I just happened to call ms today to check on my reservation. I am waitlisted for three nights during a 12 night stay. The nights are the 4, 7 & 8th. I happened to ask ms how people's waitlists disappear (as I have read on the boards). He said in my case, since all three nights are waitlisted as seperate waitlists, the the first waitlist to come thru will cancel out all other waitlists and that I will have to call to be put back on. So if the 4th come thru, I will need to call and be put back on the waitlist for the 7 & 8. I'm a new DVC member and I just assumed once your block of reservation was complete that the last waitlisted day needed would cancel out all other waitlists. Apparently not the case!

That doesn't sound right at all. If you waitlisted separately for the nights, it shouldn't matter what order they come through, you should remain on the lists until they are all filled. I think I'd call and speak to a different rep, or a supervisor.

So if I'm waitlisted separately for the 11th and 12th, and the 11th comes thru, they cancel the 12th? No, I never heard that! However, I do know that if I waitlist separately at 3 different resorts, and my wailist comes thru at any of the 3, they will automatically cancel the other two waitlists. So if of the 3, the resort that was my first choice isn't the one that comes through, I have to call to be put back on the waitlist for that one.

I don't think you were given the righ info or misunderstood. Only conflicting wait lists should cancel each other out. Say you had OKW, BCV & BWV and got OWK. You'd have to call back to get back on the waitlist for BCV & BWV.

If that happens, then the CM who input the waitlist requests made some errors.

I agree that you should call back and talk to someone else or a Supervisor. You were given incorrect information.

Only waitlists for the same night and same unit size/type should "disappear" when a waitlist comes through.

Thanks all...I think you are right. I will call first thing in the morning and talk to someone else. I really questioned the cm on this and he was adamant, but it just doesn't seem right.

I do know that each wait list day filled will have it's own reservation number. In your case you could end up with four different numbers that should be linked.

Ok so I called back this morning and talked to CJ. I told her what I was told yesturday and I went thru every possible scenerio and she told me that what I was told yesturday was wrong. I again asked the same question several different ways as I did yesturday and she assured me that was I was told was wrong and that my waitlists were just fine. We ended the conversation by her asking me what the cm name was that I talked to. Hopefully she will straigten him out. I should have spoke to someone else. Thanks for all your help!

Unfortunately, there are always some MS CMs who need more training. If you are told something that just doesn't sound right, it never hurts to call back and talk to someone else (or even a Supervisor). If you want a "reality" check first, feel free to ask here. We're pretty nice most of the time, LOL.
