I was a life guard in higher school and college and bartended my senior year of college.

I was in a Cooperative Office Education program my senior year of high school that enabled me to just take the classes I needed to graduate and then I could leave school and go to work. I only had to take one class in the morning and that was it. I worked as a clerk in an insurance agency and then I quit to be the purchasing secretary for a resort hotel. My COE instructor wasn’t thrilled with me quitting my job but the resort job I could keep after I graduated. The people at the insurance agency totally understood.

During high school I worked part time about 20 hours a week in a doughnut shop. Summers also waitressed. In college I was in a co-op program where I had 3 work sessions. All this was to make money to pay for college.

Yes. Babysitting, carpet cleaning, college newspaper, college "computer lab," and waitress. I also edited and typed the handwritten papers of other students.

Aside from more random things like snow shoveling, lawn cutting, and baby sitting, I began a more steady job in ninth grade, working for a couple in town that owned multiple properties. It was two hours a day after school and all day Saturday. School activities did cut into this time though, some seasons a lot more than others.

I babysat, worked part time at McDonalds and was a nursing assistant.

Of course. Mommy and Daddy didn't pay for everything back then like they do today. If I wanted a license and drive a car (car was a hand-me-down, nothing like today kids getting fancy newer cars purchased for them) I needed to work to pay for gas and insurance.

Not in high school, but when I was going to college I worked as a filer in an office back when offices worked with a lot of paper. It was a medical records company. We would get medical records in the mail and I would be in the file room pulling subpoenas out of the filing cabinets and attaching them to the records to send to the lawyers that had requested them. Boring, boring, mindless work. I was so happy the day I was able to quit.
