We had our reception in a mansion, and had a minister marry us in the mansions chapel!

We were married in a beautiful little art gallery. It was perfect!

My grandmother's side yard (also my childhood home). Beautiful May day.

Stephanie,
I have seen that chapel and it is lovely. I for one, would love to hear the rest of your story!

We are getting married at a resort on the beach here in Oct. I am wearing the full long white dress but will be barefoot. I can't wait!

We were married by a judge at my best friends' home. It was fun because the judge was kind of a celebrity after presiding over the first Claus von Bulow trial. We had about 50 friends and family in attendance. It was the nicest wedding I've ever been to, lol.

We were married in the Baptist church we grew up in. I remember I was very nervous, but everything worked out perfectly. 23 years & still going strong!!! :love2:

:bride: :groom:
We had a catholic mass for our wedding and it was absolutly beautiful - on a beautiful day - our wedding anniversary was yesterday 6-3-04. We have been married for 9 years and it feels like we were just married yesterday - it's been a great 9 years:) .

We had a surprise wedding at my Best Friend's house on New YEar's Eve. She goes all out decorating for Christmas so we didn't have to do any decorating. When the guest came to a church singles' NYE party they were surprised with a wedding. The preacher from the church I attended while in college came to town to do the honors. We were on one side of Theresa's den behind the christmas tree so on the video it sounds like the tree is talking. People talked about it for years. wE are still sometimes known as the couple that had the surprise wedding. Wouldn't do anything different.

We married in the chapel at University of Houston. I don't know if that qualifies as a church or other venue :)

I got married in my parents yard.

I chose registry office, but it was the local courthouse. I suppose that's the same thing really. DH and I really never had time for that big wedding that I wanted, but we're going to have the "big" wedding I want when we renew our vows on our 15th in two years. No church though....we're doing the beach thing!! :sunny: :hyper:

LOL! I have HUGE family! I actaully have a story about that! This guy comes up to DH and I as we are dancing and he says, "I dont want to even explain how I got here, but I just wanted to let you know that you had a beautiful ceremony!"

We still laugh about that. But yeah, I mean I have a lot of family and almost all of my relatives are in the area. So my cousins had their friends that I grew up with and my mom had friends and friends of my grandparents...it adds up quick!

It was a really fun wedding and everyone still talks about it! I had 25 people walk down the isle! I swear it was a parade..not a wedding!LOL!

in Myrtle Beach South Carolina at sunrise..it was just us..husband's son and his girlfriend, the justice of the peace, and his wife..very private, very beautiful..and very serene..the sky just beginning to lighten,,the waves softly pounding onto the shore..a few sea gulls flying around..couple of boats in the distance..wouldn't have had it any other way...then we spent 2 weeks at Dixie Landings in WDW..wouldn't have had that any other way either..lol!

Church wedding (Methodist). Our Sr. Minister was very strict on his "wedding policy". Mind you, this happened in 1995.
1) Brides were required to wear dresses "with shoulers".
2) Absolutely NO drinking prior to the wedding by any in the wedding party. If drinking was detected, he would reserved the right to removed the offending person.
3) No photography during the wedding. (NO EXCEPTIONS ALLOWED) Audio taping WAS allowed!
4. At least 1 usher was required. (To ensure that those guests who arrived after the beginning of the ceremory are seated properly)

Actually, it worked out well. DW is very conservative and didn't even want to consider a dress "off the shoulder", we warned EVERYONE about the photography issue, an uncle (who had multiple tuxes in in closet for "black-tie" dinners) agreed to be the usher. My brother (who I don't think had ever NOT drank prior to a wedding) waited until about 45 minutes AFTER the wedding to drink a bottle of champagne.
