Even though I have been a church goer my whole life, when I met DH, I decided to go to church with him. I fell in love with the church and that is where we got married.
Sad to say that the church has now changed drastically, and we now do not visit when we go home for the holiday's. Quite sad
Church both times - second one was much better and much more what I had dreamed of! It was an awesome day and included my daughter from a previous marriage. Of course I had to go through a lot to be able to get married in the church again but it was well worth it!
We got married at Willamette Valley Vineyards. It is a beautiful venue. We rented the largest room that has lots of windows and a deck that overlooks the vineyard. I always wanted to get married outside but have terrible allergies so we did an indoor garden theme. My mom did a wonderful job with the decorations. Everyone sat at round tables for both the ceremony and the reception as they were both held in the same room. My colors were Ivy green, grape and wine. We had lots of candles, ivy and grapes. We rented ficas trees and ferns (fake) and even a small waterfall/pond. The room had small x-mas lights all the way around it. We decorated a redwood arch with lights, ivy and wysteria. Then we put two sections of fence (about 3 ft high) on either side with lights and ivy. It was perfect.
We were married in a garden in a park near where I grew up. It was June 5, the hottest day of the year so far. Fortunately, we were able to move into the shade where it was cooler. At least it didn't rain!
My hubby and I got married byt a JP at her home. They have since torn it down and built a strip mall. For a while we told people we were married at Paperama, but now we tell them we got married at a tire store....pretty romantic, huh? LOL
DH and I were married out in the gardens of the reception hall we had booked for our reception. the ceremony was underneath the gazebo and there were flowers everywhere! The aisle leading up to the gazebo was a brick path lined with trelises that were covered with ivy. We were married by a rabbi and a minister, since we are of different faiths.
We were married at the church that I grew up in, my parents were married there, both my sets of grandparents, etc. DH joined my church after we were married and our DDs were baptized there. It's a rather large church with huge stained glass windows and a wonderful music program, vocal, handbell, etc.
