Did you ever drop hints about getting engaged?

We just booked a trip to Disney in March!! We're staying in a Boardwalk view room at the Boardwalk Villas. I'm so excited.

Dbf keeps talking about how he wants to marry me (even to other people when I'm not around). I've started dropping some not so subtle hints that maybe this upcoming vacation would be the perfect time for a proposal.

I don't want to come off like I'm pressuring him though...but it would be a dream come true to get engaged in Disney (and then married there eventually, which he is completely aware is my dream)

Did you ever drop hints? Did it work? I know one of the things holding him back is that he wants to have enough money for a great wedding. I'm not opposed to a long engagement so it's a non issue for me.

DBf and I have been together for just about 3 years now and just recently we have been talking about getting engaged and moving in together... He talks about how he can't wait to start a life together and so on. He even took me to some jewelry stores and we looked at some rings.
So for the past couple months, I have been not-so-subtly hinting that I want some diamonds :lmao:
We are going to be in WDW in January so I keep hinting about that :goodvibes I know it will happen eventually so if he doesn't do it then it's ok...
We will have a long engagement too so that we can save up and hopefully be able to afford a Disney Wedding :)

I just got engaged, and we have been together almost 7 years, so we were both in agreement we would get married one day. When it seemed he would not come around without a little help, one day I just mentioned that it would be nice if we got engaged in the next few months. About a month later he took me to look at rings, and then shortly after that proposed. I think some guys just don't think about these things without a little help. lol. I think hinting is totally fine as long as it is something you have discussed and you are not pressuring him into it. A Disney world engagement would be very nice!

I totally agree my now DFI and I had been dating for 7yrs as well before we officially were engaged. Now we are getting married November 6th 2010 on the Disney magic. We will have been together 8 years by the time we are married. I dropped hints ALL the time!!!!! We had always talked about marriage ands kids it just took us forever to do it.LOL.

I never had to drop hints. We were always very open with each other about getting married. We've been together since high school, and while I knew he was ready to be married quite young, I wanted to be finished university first. When I really stated thinking about wanting to become engaged, I talked to him about it and we went shopping for my ring together. He then held onto the ring because he wanted to propose "properly," which was very sweet.

In truth, I see nothing wrong with hints. Especially if the surprise element is important to your BF or yourself. :thumbsup2 But I know two ladies who forced their proposals with ultimatums. :scared: How romantic, hey.

While on a WDW vacation one year I tried to propose to DH along the BW! We were staying at the Dolphin and we took a walk around the BW/BC lake. He always wore this one ring and I was trying to get it off him and propose to him with it! He kept telling me I was ruining everything for when he actually did propose!

He did propose 6 months later and 9 months after that we had our very own Swan/Dolphin wedding! So I guess I got the wedding in FL rather than the proposal!

Have a magical vacation!
