Did you ever childproof your room?

Hi all!
Has anyone ever child proofed their room? We will be travelling with our 2 yr old dd this summer. We will be travelling w/a total of 5 (dh, twin 9yr old dd's and myself), so we'll be staying at POR AB. The baby will be on the trundle. Now, I'm just worried that I won't wake up if she starts roving. She always calls us and I'm sure I'd hear her, but just in case....
I was thinking the only thing I'd most likely have to bring would be those plug protectors, the door knob protectors (don't want her playing in the bathroom) and we could just put something in front of the fridge. Has anyone else ever brought childproofing items with them? OR can you think of anything else I should or shouldn't bring?
Thanks!
Cheryl :wave2: :flower:

I believe they are all handles and not door knobs. We have never child proofed anything. You could get one of those play pen crib things for the 2 year old.

When my guys were babies I always brought outlet covers.

When DS was a toddler we were staying in a hotel and before we would even unpack the outlet covers he stuck the keys in the outlet! It really surprised us...I guess he'd only been around covered outlets before.

I ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, child proof at any hotel. Kids can't be locked up all the time & need to stretch, even when not spending huge amounts of time in the hotel room. Besides, when getting ready, you can't keep a complete eye on the kids. I don't want to take the chance. Of course, I child proofed the whole house while I was 3 months pregnant with DS#1 :teeth:

I bring a sample kit from walmart. We travel a lot and I generally re-use it over and over just replacing items that are lost/broken/etc. This includes most things like plug covers--first thing I do regardless. Other things I have are door knob protectors (they do make them for several types of door handles--you just may need to look at a speciality store & not Walmart or TArget),corner protectors, VCR guards, the little things that tie up/cover cords and outlets that have use, toilet locks, straps to shut out things like fridge, etc. You know what you need at home, same things here. Of course, depending on the hotel room, we don't always use everything.

We also move out of complete reach things like glass table tops. DS#2 is also a huge climber & quick(!), so we adjust that stuff around
