Has anyone else seen the VanDeKamp (sp?) commercial where the little girl is giving her mom a hard time about the "minced fish" fishsticks she served her? The box of fishsticks says "Minced" and the girl says to her mom "Did you ever catch a minced fish?" all snotty. And then her mom serves her VanDeKamp fishsticks and the girl says "that's more like it" without even looking at her mom or saying "thank you".

I know the commerical is trying to be funny, but I just find the little girl obnoxious. I think I'm getting old...;)

That is all....just my observation of the day....carry on. :rotfl:

They are actually bringing this commercial out of retirement...
It has played here before.

Yep, they REALLY missed the mark on this one!!!
That little girl looks completely adorable... princess:

But, nope, I do not find it believable at all that a tiny girl of this age would, or could, even be reading the fine print ingredients on the back of a box... And, then to complain about it????? :confused3

I laugh my butt off every time I see that commercial. The look on the mom's face is priceless. :thumbsup2

I've seen this commercial and I also find it pretty obnoxious. It certainly *doesn't* make me want to run out to the store to by their fish. I have no capacity to tolerate brazen, crass, obnoxious behavior.

Actually, I feel this way about most programming for child actors. When was the last time you watched something on Disney channel or Nickelodean and the children were respectful and carried on intelligent conversations about things that matter, the adults were interesting and complicated, and the story-line was set any place you might actually live in real life *living in a hotel? on-board a cruise ship? really?* If all we knew of American children was what we see on TV we would think they are snotty, sassy, silly, and shallow. We would think they have uneducated clueless parents and no repect for authority of any kind. No wonder the European Union looks down their noses at us.

That commercial has been around for several months ....I do really like it!

On the same note, there's one (for Toyota I think) that's got the same sort of undertones. It's a dad about to enter a car wash. He goes to push the button for the "Basic" car wash, and he hears his toddler son clear his throat from his carseat in the back. He looks at the son, son says "Uh Uh", and shakes his head "NO". Dad reaches for the "medium" car wash, then looks back at son. Son says "NOPE!". Then he finally pushes the button for the "premium" car wash, to which the son gives his nod of approval.
The bottom line on this one is that Toyotas last so long, that the toddler knows that someday his dad's Toyota will be his. He wants his dad to take good care of it.
For the record, I think the commercial itself is clever and quite funny, but it's got the same sort of "attitude" from a child that the above mentioned commercial contains.

I havent seen this commercial in months, then all of a sudden I saw it last week. That is the cutest little girl, I could just pinch her little chubby cheeks! So cute!

I haven't seen that one, but I can understand your point.

I hated that awful PediaSure commercial with the little brat in the cart saying "I don't like chicken" and "I don't like broccoli". Like you're supposed to just cater to that by buying overpriced nutritional supplements for kids? She'll eat when she gets hungry.

That's one of my favorite commercials.. For some reason it just makes me laugh every single time I see it..:rotfl:

I like the fish commercial and the car wash commercial:thumbsup2

I think that commercial is so funny. I tried to explain it to my daughter back awhile ago.(she watches everything on DVR and doesn't watch the commercials)...it lost something in translation when I tried to explain it to her......glad to see others thought it was funny!

I hate that commercial so much! What a brat!
I do think the fishstick one is kinda funny though, just because a child wouldn't really say that.

I agree. I guess I'm getting old too.
I teach 3 and 4 years olds and I stress manners and how to ask for things nicely a lot! So maybe that's why I don't like the commercial.
