So I just got back from my band trip to WDW about 2 hours ago. It was so much fun! A couple friends of mine had never been to the World. They were so funny. They wanted to go, but they weren't EXCITED, you know? So Monday, we took the ferry from TTC to MK. We went past the Polynesian and Grand Floridean. They were like Oh, thats cool, I want a picture of that. They were definitly hiding their excitement, though. So I told them how the monorail went through the Contemporary. And they were like "Oh, Cool". So when we could finally see the contemporary, I pointed it out and they were like "OMG!!! That is so cool!!!" So we get to the park and get seperated in the AM, but meet to do the parade. There were so many band parents there. We turned the corner down Main Street and we just see a sea of red. The band parents took up half of Main Street. It was so much fun and so cool seeing so many people that are there that you know are only there for you, unlike most of the other people in the park that are there to see Mickey or the rest of the parade!!! Don't get me wrong, the entire crowd was great, but just knowing that so many people came purely to see us march/perform. It was very neat. After the parade, we walked around with them. We went straight to POTC because we were so hot. They liked that, but were still kind of hiding their excitement. We went to the Flying Carpets and had so much fun on that because of one of the CMs. He was soooo flirting with us for a good 5 minutes. We did a bunch of other rides and they showed more and more excitement after each one. We rode the Tomorrowland race track and they loved that. I rode with a friend of mine (one of the ones that had never been). She was horrible, but she claims she was doing that on purpose to see me get mad. LOL. Right before Wishes, they decided they wanted to ride Space Mountain (actually, they had been talking about that all day, but we finally did it. LOL.) They came off that and said "OMG, that was AMAZING!!!" Then we literally ran over to POTC because one of them wanted a jersey and then we ran back over to the bridge between Tomorrowland and Main Street. That was interesting. They LOVED Wishes. They thought it was so cool how all the fireworks were choreographed with the music and some of them were shaped like hearts. LOL.
We also went to Medieval Times. That was fun. Our band was the loudest group there. We were at least 5 times louder than the rest of the place combined. When they announced the groups and said our band, we cheered for a good 5 minutes. It was amazing. We also went to a Japanese Steakhouse (got lost going there and got there an hour late, but hey, its band, we have to do everything 5,000 times to get it right.) That was very good. And then we went to DTD and I had to go to the bathroom so bad, so I just about sprinted in heels (had to get dressed up for the steakhouse). Then we had an hour to go to Marketplace (needed to show my "Disney-virgin" friends the Lego Store and World of Disney) from West Side. So we walked over there, but had to go all the way because the bridge was closed and we weren't allowed to go to Pleasure Island. One of my friends wanted to buy something, so we had about 5 minutes to go from marketplace back over to West Side where our buses were. We sprinted then, too, with me still in my heels. LOL. We went to MGM and rode RnRC with all the band parents. 5 students and 11 band parents. We took up almost the whole car. It was so much fun. Even the band photographers, AKA, papparazzi were there. They were a head of us in line for ToT, too. I haven't looked yet, but I bet all the pics from MGM are of my group waving to them and the staff in line for ToT or of my group waiting in line for RnRC. They are too funny, though.
Anyways, sorry this is so long, that wasn't even half our trip. We stayed at Raddison Maingate I believe and did the Disney's Magic Music Days. I know a lot of you are band parents, so if you have any questions or whatever, please feel free to ask.
