Did the free magic bands change to black border?

Is it possible that there is a transition period and some will receive black liners and some grey until the old stock is depleted?

Nope. Not possible. Can't happen. Never never.

In seriousness though, my (not very well made) point was that my oldest magic band is as black as the "black" one in the pic above.

I just compared the magic bands from Labor Day trip to the new Thanksgiving bands new ones without a doubt are black.
I guess you have to see it to believe it.

I got my new pink band in the mail yesterday. I noticed the black. I was going to decline the band but I read about people getting a luggage tag with it. So I ordered it. No tag, I tore the box apart.

I think the luggage tags only come for folks who booked a package, so if you did a room only res you don't get one.

I just compared our bands for our upcoming December trip to our December trip from last year. Last year's bands look lighter, but I'm almost certain it's just from being older/worn. They both look grey to me. But if you/others are certain that new ones are black (I would still consider the ones I have grey) then it is probably a transitional period, where some are black and some are grey.

The ones we got on Thursday of last week were the same gray border as all the rest of the sets we have. Maybe Aprils will be black.

You still get them with a room only res.. they don't come with the magic bands, they come in the package with the booklet that overviews your reservation and has the discount list in the back.

I'm looking at two of the described packages and I have no luggage tags (one was for a stay for W&D Half, one is for NYE - both booked through Disney). These are both from room-only reservations - we don't need tickets or transport since we're AP holders.

We just got our magic bands today and we had two luggage tags in the box. I was surprised that they are both identical because I thought that they varied.

As for the band color, it looks like a dark grey to me. It does appear black in some lighting.

The luggage tags are on shortage. They have had to give out only the grey luggage tags due to this.

I bought the new villains magic band at Epcot, it has a black band and is noticibly thinner than my other bands. I'm kinda concerned that the black part is going to come off after using it a few times, it feels sort of flimsy to me
