Did the 180+10 Policy Change Recently?

We are on the cusp of our 180 day mark and in reading these boards, I suspect that Disney may have modified the way they allow the 180+10 system to work.

In the past, we have blended onsite and offsite stays, usually starting onsite and moving offsite halfway through our trip. Historically, we have been able to book ADR's for the entirety of the trip at the 180+10 day mark, notwithstanding that some of the "+10" days were offsite.

Is this still the case? In other words, at the 180+10 day mark, will I be able to make ADR's for the 5 days we are onsite and the 3 days we are offsite? Or will we be limited to making ADR's for the 5 onsite days, and then have to call back each day at the 180 day mark for the 3 offsite days.

To be clear, I'm not trying to take advantage of the system. I merely want to understand if my ADR's will still work the way they have worked in the past, or if I should plan differently (i.e., making sure my harder to get ADR's fall within the 5 days we are onsite).

I have the same question.

We book split stays, and in the past (on the old website), we've always been able to make all of our ADRs for the entire trip (i.e., for both resorts) at the 180 day mark of the first stay.

On the new website, I can't even figure how to do 180+10 for the first stay. Does the new website does not recognize the +10 benefit to resort guests, such that you must call for ADRs past your arrival day?

To get back to the PPs question, I've read that if you call, the CMs won't let you make ADRs past the end of your resort stay.

So, summing it up, under the new system:

(1) Even with a resort reservation, you can't make online ADRs more than 180 days out (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).

(2) With a resort reservation, you can call for days past the 180 day mark, but the days you will be able to book past that are now limited to the lesser of 10 days or the length of your resort stay.

I have to say that, if both of the above are correct, it's a truly lousy development and I miss the days when I could simply go on the old website and quickly book all of my ADRs for both legs of a split stay in one sitting. Now, I'll have to spend a lot more time making ADRs via multiple phone calls.

I was unable to book online, but able to book my 180+10 over the phone. In my case, I had a split stay where latter half of trip was on a friend's ressie, but still at WDW resort.

Have some interesting follow up on this topic. Yesterday was my 180 day for the first resort on a split stay. Had to call in as I could not get the online system to allow me to book beyond my arrival date. The CM allowed me to book ADRs for 10 days even though my first resort reservation was for only 5 days.

Some friends of ours are going over the same time and doing the exact split stay. In their case, the CM would not allow them to book ADRs beyond the end of the first reservation stay. In fact, the CM was adamant that this is not possible.

Another example of two very different customer service experiences with different CMs (and don't get me started on different experiences with different CMs when trying to price bridge park tickets).

My 180 day mark is tomorrow, and we will be on-site for 5 days then off-site. Will I be better off making ADR's (for the plus 10 if I can) by calling or trying on-line? If I end up calling, how early can I call?

So excited to finally start making ADR's.
