OP, in 2010, DH and I walked out of Hollywood Brown Derby after not being acknowledged by anyone. No water, no menus etc. This was not due to overworked servers. There were two servers (and another popping in and out) at the server station just chatting away like they had all the time in the world to do so. We kept staring at them, even waving in their direction. We finally walked out, letting the person at the front know exactly why. We ended up eating completely horrible QS food in HS because...it's HS.

We had the same experience at Bongo's years ago. It soured me to ever trying again so I understand why you may decline her offer.

I don't understand how other staff can whirl around the table helping others and never bother to inquire if you've been helped. I've had that happen plenty of times and it shows a level of care for the patrons of the restaurant (not just those in their section) and pride in the restaurant they work for. Speaks volumes for the morale of the staff IMO.
