Today, for the first time in years, I put on makeup. I known that is a small thing to many people, but I just never cared enough. Plus, my DH doesn't like a lot of makeup, so I used that as an excuse. I bought some yesterday, and put it on just a few minutes ago. It is only mascara and eyeliner, but it makes me feel better.
Amazing how our perspective changes when we start to feel better about ourselves!
Thanks for letting me share!

I know my banner says 10 pounds, but I have lost 43 pounds since my highest weight!

That's great Otto's doll!! Sometimes it's surprising how little things can make us feel so good about ourselves!

Keep up the good work!

Fantastic!!! You really start to feel better all over, and it's a wonderul thing. You'll notice yourself picking out more flattering, fitted clothing, wearing makeup, taking that extra time. It's a great feeling!

Good for you, Jeanne! I think that doing those little things for ourselves is so important! It really boosts our self esteem!!

Good for you! I know that I use makeup more, now that I'm happier with myself. I'll bet you look gorgeous!

Jeanne, that is fantastic!!!! Good for you for taking this step!

It's little things like this that make a huge difference in our self image and attitude. I'm so happy that you are taking the time to pamper yourself a little bit. I don't really wear make up either, but a few months ago I bought two tubes of lip gloss and a few weeks ago I got some mascara, so I think I can relate to how you feel.

(((((((((((((((Jeanne)))))))))))))) keep up the great work!!!

OTTO's..........

Are we related? lol Cause I am with you. I have never been one to put it on and hubby doesnt care for it. I have been teasing my life long friends since high school that my face is gonna look younger longer. But these past few days I have been A itching to do it, along with cutting my hair. I got this dye half way down and can't wait to cut it all off! I did cut off about 7 inches but still bugging me. The thing about the makeup is I know if I start wearing it.....I won't hear the end of it.........NOT like your gonna have wrinkles like us (from my friends) but I have never been one for putting too much attention on myself......so I know all my THIN friends will amke a big deal about it. Dont ya sometmes wish that you can start all over somewhere new where no one knew you as BIG or without makeup? Anyway....I am happy for ya. Tommorrow I am gonna consider the make up. Funny thing is that when I do wear it, like you its only eyeliner and mascara! Every now and then I put some lipstick on but thats usually a big deal event! LOL
good job ont he weight too hun......
renee:crazy:

That is such a great step to take. It is wonderful that you are doing that for yourself and I'm sure you'll find yourself steping a little more out of your box (comfort zone) now too. Keep up the great work!

Good for you, Jeanne.

Your DH sounds like my DH! I used to wear makeup when we met (19 years ago in HS) and since he didn't like it and I didn't really care either way I stopped (with the exception of foundation). Well a few months ago I went to a Mary Kay party and all the girls were encouraging me to do something since I lost weight, so I did and everyone thought it looked great, I thought is was a bit much. I came home and DH wanted to know what was with all the makeup, I guess he still doesn't like it. So I toned it down, earthtones and no eyeliner and now he can live with it. But it does make a difference to my self esteem, makes me feel more confident.

Congratulations on the 43 pounds, that is quite an accomplishment.

You guys are so incredible! Thanks for all these great posts... I will save this thread for sure. :D

I am feeling so much better about myself. I even stopped wearing my hair in a ponytail (it was less trouble that way) and found out when I had a little cut off (it is past my shoulders) that all those perms I had a teen are no longer needed! I now have wavy hair, and a little gel really tones down the frizz. Again, I haven't really cared enough to do this before.. I never wanted to draw attention to myself.

I have also been blessed with a loving DH who has told me I am beautiful even when I was at my heaviest, I am so grateful for him.

Another thing I did (in August before we went to WDW) was to get contact lenses... what a huge boost to my self esteem!

All these things have helped me feel so much better about myself and you guys are a blessing to me too!

All this helps to keep the motivation level up, cause you just want to keep feeling better!

So, Thanks for your encouragement.. couldn't do this without you!:wave2:
