Did something change with the Gardenview Lounge?

I was online considering my options for future trips (in other words moving around my ADR's for the bajillionth time) and thought, hmm, I wonder if I can get in for tea on one of my upcoming trips.

So I do a reservation search for Grand Floridian and the lounge doesn't show up.

So I go to the disney website and the the Garden View lounge page is almost entirely about the princess event, with a small paragraph about how wonderful tea is. It almost makes it sound like that is the only thing there!

The page must have been updated recently because it says boys who attend get a Duffy bear, and I'm pretty sure those haven't been available for long.

Does anyone know if this is just one of those places where you have to call or if things have really changed?

You can't book it online, you have to call.

As for the thing you were reading, children are not given any stuffed animals at the regular Garden View tea. You may have been reading a blurb about the Perfectly Princess tea (a special event for children and parents - and you have to call to book that, too). Girls who sign up for that get a doll. It's apparently a seriously girly event, but I bet some little brothers get dragged along.

You have to call to make reservations and theonline presence is all about the Princess Tea etc.

When I called to make a reservation for me and my 60 year old husband for Valentines, I was assured that it was not the "Princess Tea" I'll let you know if they were wrong!

You are right on all accounts
. . . it is NOT the princess tea, no toys or gifts for anyone
. . . it is and Afternoon Tea (on the order of British Style)
. . . you must call to make ressies, as it not available on-line
. . . they serve 2:00pm-5:00pm, and open until about 6:00pm
