"Did Pluto Just Give You A Lap Dance?" 10 days of Naughty & Nice!

Day 3 - "Tampon Tirade"

So here is the official last installment of “Universal Day.” I will be sad when she is finally over but for goodness sake, how long can one drag out a single day? :confused3

I mean it gets to be like my ex- MIL talking about her menopause hot flashes. LOOOONG stories about sweaty places never seen by man or beast. Undiscovered territories of far reaching crevices and cracks that are best left undiscovered. :scared1:

Things National Geographic gets the eebie geebies about.

That my amigos are horrifying tales of epic proportions and thus – my need to finally finish this day.

After departing in a calm and orderly like fashion as instructed, out of Fear Factor Live, we meandered towards the ever popularly touted, “Simpson’s ride.”

- Carsyn and I and a stranger we asked to pose with us.

This was a great hype for what after; I considered being a mediocre ride. The best part is the queuing area which is made to resemble a carnival house. Bright colors and goofy posters entertained you as you walked the maze to walk inside.

Once you enter your capsule that is nothing more than a simulator ride that has been around for years, you depart the world as you know it for Bart’s world. Great graphics and the motion is synched perfectly – but so is “Honey I Shrunk the Audience” and the roller coaster design ride at Disney Quest.

We got off and were looking at each other like – what was the big deal? Baylor with his access pass could have done the ride again with little wait and none of us could be bothered with it. That speaks volumes IMO.

Next up was the Men in Black ride. I chose not to go on. I get motion sickness often and I had pushed it with the Simpson’s ride. So I sat outside and waited for the others – holding the entire garb.

The longest sidebar in the history of Elizabeth Taylor’s love life:

One thing I will compliment Universal parks on is the fact that they have lockers to rent for the time you need to ditch your bags outside of certain rides. It helps those of us past the baby stroller stage in wondering what to do with our hobo gear and wondering if Skippy the ride attendant will really watch your Louis Vuitton bag with $2,000 in it and your grandma Ethel’s china while he pushes the big green button and red button during his work regiment.

Now you may think I am being a smart mouth about Skippy. Cutting down the working man. Chastising his competency.

Well you would be right. :thumbsup2

At Universal.
Because what happened next was a reality check on who is manning the rides.

As I sat, peacefully contemplating the cause and effect of g-force against a weak stomach, a woman in a moto scooter slammed into my shin. Like she was a cop sliding into park right before they got out, chasing down on foot, a bad guy.

Then DWI Dorothy, decides to back up and ram forward again, trying to parallel park her 400 pound caboose between the bench I was sitting on and a garbage can.

Why you ask?

Because she did not want to move as she threw her purse contents away which included, a moldy, tuna fish sandwich, a half drunk curdled bottle of O-jay (why would tuna and O-jay not go together?) and various pills and belly button fuzz that had begun to multiply in the bottom of her satchel.

With her one, not rotted, snaggle tooth, she smiled and leaned over and said she was sorry for amputating my right leg.

Has anybody seen the movie, “A fish called Wanda?” If you have you know the English guy that keeps getting run over, beaten etc, by accident.
bd48c70bd3cdc62a
That was my next 20 minutes.

There was no other place to sit and I felt like if I moved I may hurl.

That and my guilt complex made me stay.

I do not care how overweight you are, how poor you might be or what you deem as etiquette. I am a former social worker who believes in the sanctity and dignity of all human kind. :littleangel:

But – I have a limit. I have boundaries. I have standards.

I have a low tolerance for smells and shaved hairs (left on the floor or sink…ewww..) and I will not tolerate someone else’s feminine hygiene products being tossed about like it were a friggin tic-tac box. :snooty:

That’s right folks. Dorothy tossed down her un-used tampon (not in a wrapper even) next to me on the bench while looking for her last piece of gum. :sad2:

For the love of all that is holy. Why me?

Because you know that people passing were thinking we were together. We were of the same race and did not look like the 4’5 Chinese visitors eating their mushu pork on the other end of the bench.

So here we sat, me, Dorothy and the,”pon” in a face off like in an old west movie.

(Insert that music that is a whistle with tumbleweeds blowing past please and a bit of dust couldn’t hurt either.)

I looked down at it. It stared back, taunting me with its cotton leash of doom.
tampon1.jpg

I blinked hard. Hoping it was a mirage.

No such luck.

It was still there and as it was absorbing the humidity in the Florida air, it was growing unmercifully, refusing to give up.

So I did what any self respecting person would do.
I asked her to move it please because I was highly allergic to cotton and I did not have an Epy pen with me.

She glazed over my jeans and t-shirt and raised her matted eyebrow and then plopped it back in the bowels of he!!, where it belonged. :worship:

Right then her husband, came to gather her up and head out. His name was Richie. I knew this because she had told me in a muffled voice as her head was encompassed by her bag. He works at Universal during busy seasons and that is how they came to be there that day. She does not like rides so she just sits and waits for him at every area. She thinks he is sexy and loves wearing his underwear.

Yup – found that out too. Just one more nugget to file in the drawer of WTH do people think giving more information than your gyno wants to know about you, to complete strangers.

So that my dear readers, is why I am glad for the lockers. They save me from freaking out that Richie, sans underoos, may be trusted with my belongings when he can’t control his wife’s blatant misunderstanding of proper “pon” placement.

mib.jpg
- This pic shows the before mentioned bench and garbage can which is now known as “pon”dom.

Dan and the gang came out of their ride and I told them of my scary adventure as they shared their stories of who was the best shooter and who could not aim worth a hoot. We rode Disaster quickly and I am reminded that I liked it much better before. Did they not used to have King Kong in it? Maybe I am dead wrong but it seems to me it was better before.

We now were hungry again so we stopped in Louie’s Italian Restaurant and got some pizza and Caesar salad on the dining deal. We also bought a gelato which was a waste of money. Not good at all.

Once we were all full, we went to ride the Mummy.
3c30f3e0c673978e

It is my very favorite ride here. It did not disappoint and in fact we did ride this one twice. We had to ask for special seating in the back though as they are made for bigger people. Not just weight wise but Dan at 6’6 has trouble fitting in some rides. His shoulders are too tall and some with overhead bars cannot buckle and some are so cramped – his knees are jammed. He gets to always sit in the front at Space Mountain because even cross legged, he cannot fit in the back of the space mobiles. So if you are tall or have family that is – ask and usually there is some seats that accommodate yeti’s.
6131f245e9bb6fd2

After that – we hit Twister and it was okay but again, one of those rides that have been around for years and not changed at all. Baylor had watched Twister in the hospital so he liked seeing it with a fresh eye.

Before we left the park, we did Jimmy Neutron and Shrek 4D. I have zero memory of Shrek but thought Jimmy was just a fun light ride.

We then took off for the car and Treyner almost lost the chance to give me grandkids. Again, with him, everything is an obstacle course or race and he went to jump over the parking lot, cement posts that are about 5 feet high. Like do leapfrog over it by pushing off of the top.

1087cb5d225dea4c
- a sample of what I am trying to describe.

Great plan but next time, tie your shoes senior smart one. He lost his footing as his foot came out of his shoe and luckily hugged the post as he fell forward. Everyone in our party was laughing at him and again, people passing were thinking we were sadists. Maybe they are right.

We got back to the condo and cleaned up for the night because we had a dinner date with a group of hotties from the Wish thread.

I have pics from that night and need to figure out how to get them form the computer to Photobucket so I will post that part a bit later!

Dawn! You and Carsyn look lovely on that picture! How nice of you to ask a stranger to pose with you, I bet you made her day! :rotfl:

I am so excited to see the pictures of the Wish meet I think Ive just had a little accident! :lmao: Oh sorry, was that TMI? I thought thats what we should do around here!

Seriously, I think you and I have the kind of faces that invites people to share WAY too much information. I get it at work all the time....

Disneygaluk: 'So Mrs Smith, where are you thinking of for your next holiday?'
Mrs Smith: 'Anywhere that I can run around naked, without fear of inflaming my already swollen bowels and without triggering my highly infectious Athletes Foot'

I spend more time using antibacterial handwash than I do actually doing any work!

Ok, now Ive completely babbled on, onwards and upwards with your next installment! :lmao:

Let me know EXACTLY what that face looks :confused3 like so I do not make it again! :thumbsup2

Is it this one:

Or just possibly:

Get back to me so I never do it again! ;):lmao:

Nice...:lmao:
I really have no other comments...

OH YEAH! Except for that King Kong was a seperate ride. I think the Mummy replaced it.

I just report the facts Ma'm - simply the facts! ;)
OH YEAH! Except for that King Kong was a seperate ride. I think the Mummy replaced it.

Ahhh, that was it. Did the Disaster ride change though? Hmmm...

I am now finishing the evening report and will ppost in the next hour or so. My photobucket bulk uploader was not working so it took the past 2 hours to upload them individually and then re-size. Do we have to resize? I am not sure how big it will be in reg format?

I'm so sorry about your hand -- OUCH! My first and only broken bone was the result of our lab/golden retriever mix...it was Thanksgiving Day, just about 5-6 weeks before my wedding...after Thanksgiving dinner we decided to give the dog a treat and so I was pouring some gravy on her dog food, which was kept at the top of a flight of 3 or 4 stairs. She got very excited, jumped up on me, and pushed me down the stairs...where I landed with my right wrist bent at a very strange angle. Several hours later, I had my right arm in a cast (and I'm right handed)...with a wedding coming up in 5-6 weeks and a wedding gown with totally fitted sleeves. Yikes! Fortunately, the cast came off a week before the wedding. But we had already decided that, if the doctor wasn't going to take the cast off, my Dad was going to somehow remove it for the wedding and then we would go to the ER to get it put back on before we left for our honeymoon the next morning. LOL

I'm glad you've been posting about Universal since we're still trying to decide if we want to go there when we go to WDW next month...haven't decided yet. I think the budget will decide...and if that's the case, we won't be going. But I'm still thinking about it....

I hope your son gets picked as one of the two goalies so he can stay where he is!!

Day 3 - Friends & Family

Boardwalk Dis-Meet with our regularly programmed family back in action!

We got all dolled up and then, took our rent-a-vehicle on a drive to Boardwalk where we were having a Dis Meet and an early birthday celebration for Treyner.

The group we were meeting was from a weight loss thread I had started Dec 2007 on the WISH thread and we were (and are) going strong. It ended up a few of us were going to be there at the same time just by coincidence, so others who could, flew in for a few days.

I love the Boardwalk. It is probably one of my favorite places still. When the kids were little, we started taking them there just to walk and rent a surrey bike and a classic pic for us was the oversized chair that is in the entryway to the right, between the sliding doors. I wish I had a scanner because the side by side pics are just precious to see them 10 plus years later.

Carsyn and Baylor still can not reach the floor with their feet and it reminds me of everything great about Disney. A magical place that makes you remember how grand and big things are when you are a child. Funny how that simple moment of sitting in that chair moves people from their current age to the place of being small. Like Edith Ann for those of you old enough to know Lily Tomlin!

I hope someday we can get pics of the next generation of kids (grandkids) in that same chair. Every year I get afraid they will ditch the chair and change it to something else. I hope that is one thing Disney lets remain the same.

P1000653.jpg

- If you look close at this picture - you can see Baylor's upper thigh on his left leg and how raw his donor site was. This actually caught me off guard as I pulled it up to move to photo bucket. I have not looked at these pics since we got back.
P1000654.jpg

His leg does not look like that anymore. It currently is almost similar to his natural skin color. The truth though is that the leg here, looks a million times better than it had been a month before, when the surgery first happened.

P1000655.jpg

We then walked through the lobby and enjoyed the decorations and saw the first of the famed gingerbread houses! They were so cute!
P1000657.jpg

00000009-2.jpg

I was also reminded in loud voices about a time when the kids were younger and we had stayed at the Boarwalk while ABC soap weekend was being held. The stars were staying there and you ran into them in the halls and the lobby.

For me, Kelly Rippa's husband, Mark Consuelos was the ultimate unexpected hottie to see!
8fa69e2ed2ef511e

We walked into the lobby and there he was, by the fireplace talking to someone. Like a sculpture I would love to take home and put outside my pool. If I had one. Or Dan allowed it. Neither one is likely!

I grabbed the video camera and began to innocently tape the lobby to preserve the beauty and pristine ellegance of the decor and just perhaps happened to pan across him... several times...slowly...in both vertical ...and horizontal viewing pleasure...:rolleyes1

Well he obviously caught on because all of a sudden, that huge, brilliantly, white smile crept over his face and he turned and waved to the camera. The kids love to watch that video and call me a stalker! :cool2::rotfl2:

Here is a pic of the kids by the ornate fireplace in the lobby. Not quite Mark but they are cute!
P1000660.jpg

At this point I was worried about how we were going to get the cake from the bakery on the boardwalk to Big River Grille where we were going to eat it. Treyner knew nothing and I wanted to keep it a suprise so I decided to send Carsyn and Baylor down to pick it up and deliver it to the restaurant. Dan and Treyner and I walked the store in the hotel, saw the famous clown pool area, viewed the workout room and anywhere else I could think of, under the guise that Dan had never stayed there. Baylor and Carsyn departed us, "heading to the restroom," and would meet up with us in the Disney Mercantile on the boardwalk.

One place I knew would offer great distraction with no questions was the game room!
00000012-2.jpg

Once the cake had been secretly delivered, Carsyn called me and let me know it was safe to bring Treyner to the store and once inside, they all headed to the hats to get their "Tyra Fierce" on!

P1000664.jpg

After meandering around a bit, we went outside and checked in for our party, While waiting for our buzzer to notify us, we shot some pics. It is so beautiful and peaceful at night watching the boats ferry people from Epcot and Hollywood Studios. That and the screaming of the surrey bike rental customers hoping you get out of the way before they mow you over, is a great combination. :drive:

00000019-2.jpg

00000022-2.jpg

00000017-2.jpg

00000016-2.jpg

We were buzzed (that just sounds too funny to pass up) and got our table while the rest of the gang was making their way from Spoodles and Epcot. They were soon arriving and it was great to finally see so many fellow Dissers in person.

The kids sat back and listened at the non stop talk and multiple conversations at the same time. Carsyn said she did not think there was anyone else who could talk as much as I did! :rotfl2: In fact she turned the camera to video a few times and just left it on the table so we could listen later and laugh at the craziness.

There were drinks ordered and a few appetizers...

And then... the cake was brought out. Treyner was shocked! I loved it! I had wanted to order a cake and was afraid if we did not share it with a group of people - it would either go to waste or would be eaten to the point of gluttony. ;)
00000023-2.jpg

It was marble with strawberry center and butter cream frosting. Since we had gotten the confirmation he was going to be going to Fort Lewis College, I asked if they could use that as the theme of the cake. The bakery said yes and went on the computer to make sure the colors matched perfectly and the logo was screened on. I could not believe how great it turned out!

The gang!

Back Row: HockeyKat (Kat), Dan, Me & SeptemberGirl (Liz)
Front Row: 3DisneyKids (Erika) and goofyfan-12 (Paula)

After a few hours, we split up and the rest of the group headed to the piano bar on the boardwalk and our party left to head home. I was wiped and although it would have been fun to hang out with just the girls, I was not in that mindset. They had plans to meet up later in the week also but for me, this was my family time. I was really glad to have spent that evening with them though.

I was not up to being my usual easy going self yet and my head could not get to that happy - no worries place and I did not want to be the Debbie Downer for the gals.

I was just so grateful to be in Florida with all my family healthy enough to share time together.

I have a hard time taking pics of myself and those pictures with me and the kids mean the world. I wish I would have been brave enough to get some with me and Dan that night - but the rest of the trip - I pushed back the negative-self talk and just enjoyed the moment and accepted what I looked like. For those of you who have struggled with your weight, I know you get that. :thumbsup2

Well that is finally it! Next up, moving to OKW and DTD with a night ending at MVMCP!

This would be where the "Lap Dance" enters for the first time!

I get it. Trying to look at the busget for the trip we are planning for December. It may be a meager trip and if it wasn't for that free dining it would be a no go for sure!
I hope your son gets picked as one of the two goalies so he can stay where he is!!
From your lips to the coaches ears! :worship:

Mmmmm....Mark Consuelas

GREAT pictures Dawn, the WISH meet looked so much fun! Is it wrong that I could imagine sticking my face in Treyners cake? I do love cake!

Oh, how tall is Dan? He looks so tall compared to everyone else!

Me too but I am not thrilled with fondant. I get it looks pretty on cake but it tastes bad IMO. The cake was okay that night - I think I would have picked a different middle - more real strawberry instead of a whip.
Oh, how tall is Dan? He looks so tall compared to everyone else!

He is 6'6 and maybe an ounce shorter with old age! I don't notice his height unless I see him around other people. I have an uncle that is 6'7 - Treyner is 6'2 so Dan is not that far off from my normal to be a freak show!

I think Erika is like 5'2 or something so he towers over her - plus she is a tiny thing and that doesn't help either!:rotfl2:

Awww I love the picture of you with the kids!!! I bet you have that one framed up already. Oh and that cake looked delicious too!!! Glad you could pull of that surprise!

I do like the one of us four. Baylor is always being goofy in pics and it would not be the same without that!

Today was 1st day of schoolpictures and a monumental moment has happened.

Carsyn is shorter than Baylor in a 1st day of school pic.

She was not happy about it but he was reveling in the fact she had to put him in a head lock to get her arm around his shoulders!:rotfl2:

Thanks so much for that!

He totally did and it was glorious!

I love the pictures of your family - and the meet with the gals from this board looks like a blast! I want to do that sometime!!!!

I hope Treynor gets to stay in Colorado. Nothing like adding to the stress of getting used to college life! I'm sure he will do great!

Kayla just had a gal in their dorm die from pneumonia. They are all pretty shocked!!!! Kayla had only met her briefly during Welcome Weekend, but it is still devastating at this age.

Looking forward to reading more about your trip!

Have a great day!

We need to soon in the midwest here - I sent you a P.M. - not sure if you got it or not.

He is heading to Vegas for the weekend. 7 hours from where he is. Hard not to say anything cause I would be doing the same! The varsity soccer team is gone to Texas this weekend so since Aug 1 - this is his first break. He deserves a good weekend. I also instilled the travel bug in him so who can I blame but myself? :rotfl2:

How sad and so young. Glad she can talk with you.

You too!
