BTW from what I heard WDW requested a maintenence budget of 600 million but was given only 300 million.

So don’t call me names when this or anything else doesn’t happen.
You think a simple disclaimer is going to stop anyone?;)

Maybe they need to do the same thing with maintenance that they do with the attraction makeovers AV mentions. You know, get some John Deere riding mowers, convert them to riding vacuums that look like Stitch's spaceship, and let CMs dressed up as "Experiment 626" careen around the park cleaning up. Since the machines will suck up the wallets of guests who were startled into dropping them before running for cover, the accountaneers would be happy...

If the rumors are true and herr ei$ner is getting the sack after 2003, Disney is going to need to bring in someone who can get the company back on track and onto its orginal focus...im all for selling ALL the ABC TV/Radio properties and taking the monies and rolling them back into what made this company great: Quality Family Entertainment...Lets get back to making great animated films, quality televion and excellent amusement parks

I have a question: does anyone know if any of Uncle Walts family(children, grandchildren, great grand children,ect..) is on the board..if they are,put em in the CEO seat..The way I see it, Disney blood is going to be the saving grace of the company!!

I never really liked AE either, but I never found "the scary Snow White thing" scary either. I guess to a very young person.

I can't see them spending the money to "downgrade" POTC. It would also be very difficult and expenive to "PC"ise the haunted mansion. There are a lot of expensive illusions there. They could remove some elements, but most likely, I think there will be some subtle changes to help market stuff for the movie. Who knows, maybe they will add a store to the exit, rather than a cart. Maybe they will add subliminal shopping images to the end of the ride? How about forcing you to buy a "I Like Mikey" T-shirt...

Who knows...
:bounce:

I hope they change the rides, not to be *PC* but just to freshen them up a bit.

Before I left for our last trip I was so upset about the proposed Spaceship Earth rehab because my DD has always loved that ride. But after going on it this trip I changed my mind, I think it will be good for Epcot if it's changed.

As far as POTC, I think it's in need of some change. After going on it for the past 25 odd years, it will be nice to see something different about it. The same with the Haunted mansion, personally that creepy head lady freaks me out so I hope she goes away-lol. Now if they'd PLEASE, I'm begging here, change or update Snow White, please-lol. Even my 2 year old seemed bored with it-lol.

I definitely agree with those that say the MK needs a kick in the ***. I will be thrilled if these rumors are actually true because that will mean they are on the right path to making the MK a better place for repeat vistors which in turn will increase attendence and provid more money for more changes to increase attendence..........lol.

Adding Stitch to Alien Encounter would only be a plus in my opinion. I am not a fan of the tasteless and sadistic Alien Encounter attraction. I hope they change it.

Even if the suits did tell the OP this info, which does seem odd that they would, there is definitely some personal spin put on this rumor. I would bet that the suits did not use the phrase KIDDIE UP the MK, or make the HM more SILLY.

I don't see any reason those attractions would need to be made more suitable for young children.....my 2yo dd's favorite attractions (as requested by her...) are Pirates, Snow White, and Haunted Mansion. She seems to like just that little bit of spookiness...since she knows she's perfectly safe. My ds on the other hand still won't ride HM (he's 7). Some kids will be scared of anything...I was when I was a kid myself....I don't see how you could keep the stories in these coherent and interesting without that little bit of thrill in the show. The important thing is for parents to know what their kids can handle and not make assumptions about rides before trying them out for themselves (much like determining what movies your kids can handle watching...isn't it? Like I knew my 2yo would find Chamber of Secrets too intense in the theater, so I didn't take her...but I know she'll be fine with it at home on DVD)

Oh, I did seem to notice a change in the POC....the pirate sitting with the girl hiding in the barrel behind him doesn't seem to want to "hoist his sails" upon her anymore...or offer to share. He just seemed to go on about finding treasure. Or did I just miss the timing on that one? I could swear that earlier this year he was still his old wicked self. And we did ride POC at least a half dozen times just this trip.

Alien Encounter is just stupid....seriously, if you go to the MK to be breathed and drooled upon in the dark something's very, very wrong...... Stitch would make an improvement, at least he's entertaining.
