Did my waitlist go through without an email?

I just logged on to My Disney Experience and happened to see that my hotel plans listed the entire trip I wanted (including the 2 waitlisted days)! I was so excited and checked the DVC website and it's there too!

I always thought you would get an email telling you that your waitlist went through. Am I correct in thinking that I really did get my dates?

I recently had a wait list come through, and did not get a confirming e-mail. I agree that I used to get notification, but perhaps they do not send then any more.

I have had many waitlists come through over the years, and don't think I ever

It's been hit and miss for me. A year or two ago I got an email about a waitlist filling but then nothing on subsequent ones until last month when once again I received one.

I think in the past I have sometimes received an email that looked like I had made a new reservation, which confused me until I realized that it was the dates I had waitlisted. And then sometimes (I think most recently) I did not get an email.

I disagree that there's no need for one; I don't like having to check the account all the time just to see if it's come through. And I sometimes need to make plans based on the waitlist, and it's really nice if I've been explicitly notified.

We've only wait-listed a few times; never a confirming e-mail. At one point in time I seem to recall they sent notification via snail mail.

We have wait listed a few things for our September stay (trying to minimize resort switching... until I change my mind) and each time have received an email - as recent as yesterday morning. Right now I'm pretty content. I really wanted to get a BCV/BWV room for the two nights hanson will be at ETTB and those two nights just came through. Woohoo!

I get waitlist confirmation emails only about 50% of the time. Good thing I check the website obsessively when I have one. It's almost part of the fun for me now.

Well, I'm glad I read this thread last night because I then went to the member website and saw that my wait list went through. Don't know when it did, but I'm glad. I have gotten emails in the past when it was filled and the DVC member website specifically states when you create a waitlist that they will send you an email if it is filled. Glad to know that they don't always send them out, because in the past I sometimes check availability for what I want and don't check to see if a wait list is filled. Now I know to check my "upcoming vacations" first to see if I already have what I requested. Thanks for letting us know.

In most cases, we've gotten an email confirmation when a waitlist has come through. However, most recently when our 1 waitlisted night with VWL came through it was automatically linked with our existing reservation without a notification. I guess its just hit or miss.

I received an email for my wait listed upgrade from a 1 bedroom to 2 bedroom, but this is my first time wait listing.

I just got a phone call regarding my waitlist - first time ever! I had Nov 25th and 28th wait listed at GFV in a lake view studio. MS was calling me to tell me that my 28th had matched but that I had two waitlists for the same day. Turns out she was confused and it was the Nov 25 that had matched and the 28th was still pending. One down one to go!
