Did I remember that right?

I remember when the Backlot Tour at the then MGM Studios had a section hosted by Bette Midler. It is a foggy memory for sure. I also remember something there for Honey I Shrunk The Kids where someone got to sit on a large sized bumble bee and they then made it look like you were in the movie riding the bee. Does anyone else remember that?
I remember both of these! The Bette Midler Movie they made on the backlot and then showed on the tour. I remember a scene with her riding in a grocery cart on a street? It has a short name, but I just can't come up with it. With the bee they had a couple of kids ride it and then put the background in on the green screen and showed the video.

Great idea! I love the history of the parks!

We have pics of a character breakfast from the late 80s (probably 88 or so?) meeting Chip & Dale and I always thought it was at the Contemporary (because I remember the monorail being a big part of it). Is that possible? Was it Chef Mickey's?
Yes, Chip and Dale were at Chef Mickey's when we went in October 2006. We will never forget their antics when we were there for a late breakfast and were pretty much the only guests left. The poor staff had to clean up after their mischief!

I have pics of me and Chip & Dale at Chef Mickey's breakfast in the summer of '93. Honestly, I didn't even realize they weren't there anymore.

Oh wow, I remember this! I forgot it was on the backlot tour. She was in a short film and then they showed you how they did the special effects. (Seriously all I remember is her breaking her high heeled shoes.)
i also remember from the early days of MGM, that Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Dick Tracy were EVERYWHERE. It seemed like they were tied into half the attractions.

I seem to remember these machines that let you put your Key to the World card into, and they spit out a little piece of paper with a time to return for the ride? Am I remembering that right? You could do it for the same ride multiple times a day, with any combination of rides you wanted! Just show up at whatever park you wanted, and go at it! Ah, those were the days. :) ;)

Way back in 1986, I remember the 20,000 leagues under the sea attraction. Ah yes, we rode the Nautilus once. Years later, an intoxicated man with his companion sat behind us on the Wilderness Lodge bus to MK. Probably her first trip as he was telling her about the ride & how he looking forward to taking her on it. I wonder how many circles they made in the park looking for the ride. Lol.
