I just realized that IASM will be re-opening right smack dab in the middle of the holiday season... so will it be Christmasy like always, or do you think it will be "normal?" I don't remember seeing anything about it anywhere!

It will be Christmasy! I think the DL website even references it in their blurb about the holiday season!

I assume it will be decorated. Last year when they were talking about it being down for so long, everyone said that pre-holidays '07 was the last time until early '09 to see the *normal* IASW, so to get your visit in quick. To me that means late '08 IASW will be Holiday themed. :)

Betcha they never took the holiday decorations down from last year and saved themselves several weeks of work last January and this October. :)

I don't know that I have the same faith as you do, Hydro, in that sort of efficiency. We have major construction (not Disney, of course) going on on our street, and it took a special neighborhood + planners + contractor meeting to convince them that they could do two sets of work at once, thereby only causing them to tear up the entire street ONCE, which is different than they originally planned. On Friday they broke a water pipe, tore up that part of the street, did a temp fix, paved it over again all pretty (I was right there, I saw the big hole, yet I couldn't figure out where the hole had been, the paving was so nicely done), and this morning they jackhammered it all back up to do a permanent fix of it.

So I have no faith that people being paid hourly will do something efficient like keep xmas lights up! :upsidedow

I bet they took everything down - I wouldn't want all that construction dust all over those costumes and props. I can see covering the dolls with "body bags" , to protect them, but the hanging vines and tinsel and stuff.... Nah. Can't see them risking stuff getting ruined. Too much money invested....

Any idea when the stuff will be taken down and the regular ride will be reopened?

We'll be there January 21st, 22nd, and 25th.
