Did I make the right move?

I have moved my hotel yet again. This time I have gone form the cabins to OKW. 2 bedroom villa. It is going to cost me about 100.00 more per person. I have 5 adult going and I thought that we would really enjoy the extra room. I have not seen a whole about okw. I have even looked on the DCV message site. I am hoping anyone can tell me about it. No I am not a DCV member. Will I feel out of place. Are there things or places I can not do or go because I am not a member? How is mousekeeping? Any buliding I should ask for when I get there? I have asking for a non smoking room on the ground floor due to one for the people going with me has oxagen and will a have a ECV. Thanks for all the help

I can't answer any of your questions on OKW, but I can tell you we stayed at VWL and we aren't DVC. We didn't feel out of place at all. You can not tell who is DVC and who isn't. The only difference I know of is valet is free for DVC and they only get mousekeeping once a week. But as a non DVC, we did get mousekeeping every day.

I have never stayed in the cabins, but from the picutes, I would say you made a good choice for more room. The cabins look small.

Anymore thoughts on OKW? So I will have mousekeeping every day that is good news. How is the bus system to MK? I will be taking my car to all other paks but I have read that taking your car to MK is not worth it. How long does it take to ride the Ferry to DTD? Again thanks for everyones help and input.

Totally loved the OKW 2 bedroom!! It is huge and very pretty!!! You will love the full kitchen, the whirlpool tub and washer and dryer. We had a ground floor room too and got a visit from a duck family every morning. DD and I would sit out on the patio and share our breakfast with them. It is so peaceful there.
We are not members either. You will feel the same at OKW as you do at any other hotel. Mousekeeping was great and did a wonderful job.
If you want peace then a building farther away from Hospitality House would be best. It is quiet everywhere though. Since you have a full kitchen you will probably doing breakfast in the room so getting to the main house for breakfast won't be an issue. If the main house is what you prefer to be near then request it. Other than that you will LOVE it. It is the prettiest place! Enjoy!! Great choice!! (I am not a camper though so the cabins are not for me anyway!)

OKW is a very nice resort. The buildings are laid out like more like condos than a hotel. You can park right in front of your unit.

A note on Mousekeeping - if you rent points from a DVC member, you don't get Mousekeeping every day. You are treated the same as DVC members. If you go through Disney and pay their prices you do get Mousekeeping every day.

There is no way to tell who is DVC and who isn't, so don't let that bother you.

The bus service is just fine. We never waited more than 10-15 minutes for a bus.

There are four pools - the main pool (which will be closed for rennovations this Fall) and three quiet pools.

The main building is Hospitality House. Many people like to be close by, but I didn't find it necessary, especially since you'll have your car. Every bus stops at Hospitality House last so you can hop on any bus to get there. There are bus stops in each area of the resort.

We like the Turtle Pond area - it is very quiet and relaxing and there is a pool and snack bar there too.

Both the 1 and 2-bedroom units have full size washers and dryers, a full kitchen completely furnished, and a DVD player.
