Did I make a mistake? Dinner at 1900 PF

Can I ask what's on the buffet? I'm deciding between Boma & this place for a trip at the end of the month. I think my son would love the characters much more than the food at Boma but I still want to make sure he eats.

We love Boma and would choose it in a heart beat over 1600. If you have never been to the lodge your son may like looking out at the savannahs.

It's normally VERY GOOD. I trust it 99% of the time. Although, I will say last time, I was there during free dining, I think they were overwhelmed by extra guests, b/c it was the 1st time I saw it messy. It was my DH 1st time so he thought it was really nice. I noticed it was much more chaotic & the messy buffet bothered me enough to make a res for breakfast this year instead of dinner. It is my mom & family's must do. So we will hope breakfast is like it used to be. It used to feel immaculate & fancy. Maybe book a less busy time if you can. Early or late. ;)
I'm one of the ONLY non fan of CP & I think 1900 is much better. Really, it's kind like CP. 1900 just has items I prefer to CP. I have not had breakfast @ CP in a while but would like to try it....someday.

We had breakfast there in May and I absolutely loved it. It is loud and chaotic with the characters but the food, I thought, was delicious! I loved the lobster benedict and of course strawberry soup. There was a lot to choose from and I thought it was one of the cleanest buffets we went to (much cleaner than CP at least).

we were there is january and are returning this coming january. The food was not horrible and gross! But we went on a slow time and I think that may make a difference. The characters were the best of all our meals (we also did akershus and cp).I think if you want the interaction, do not worry about the food.

Have to disagree as well, we thought the food was totally fine..no better no worse than any other place to us! Loved the interaction with the stepsisters and stepmother too. We would totally go Back with no hesitation.

I have a reservation there in a few weeks. Can I ask what is so gross about the food? Was it the choices? The cleanliness? Was it overcooked/under cooked, cold?

TIA

I would have to disagree as well. 1900PF was our favorite character dinner. The food was fine, like you said no better no worse than other buffets, but they offered a few unique dishes that DH and I really enjoyed.

I would also totally disagree with the Liberty Tree suggestions. We used to love it but last time, the food was not that good at all.

we were there the end of August, and the food was fine. We were a little disappointed with the service: we waited almost 40 minutes past our ADR and when it was time to leave, we had to wait another 20 minutes for the waitress to return with our KTTW card (maybe that's why there was a bottle neck to seat people, folks who were done eating had to wait before they could leave, tying up the tables).

Also one of the stepsisters became ill, so they both left without visiting our table.

Over-all, it was pleasant, I liked the food, DD loved dancing with Prince Charming: we'll go on our next trip if it's available.

I was there in January and my family and I had a good meal. There was enough of a choice for all three of my kids to find something they liked, and between the prime rib and the salmon my wife and I liked the choices also. For a buffet I thought they had a lot of choices and it was basic comfort food, but it was good. Salad, meat, fish, vegetables, good dessert choices, and the strawberry soup is a nice extra. They might not have the ice cream machine anymore, but at the end of the meal our server brought us a huge hot fudge sundae that all five of us couldn't finish. Character interactions was great. Anastasia forced Lady Tremaine to engage her to my fifteen year old son. She wouldn't take no for an answer to our amusement, and his horror. Cinderella was excellent and my daugters being able to dance with both Cinderella and Prince Charming was great too. We are going back this January.
