Hi everyone :)

I am going to DL for the first time from 11-5-8 2005. (I know it's short, but I can't make it longer due to work concerns). I just booked the HOJO for my stay, corp. rate $50.15/night. Did I make a good hotel choice? The hotel gets good reviews, but I'm still nervous. Is the hotel really 7 min away from the park??

I'm also curious about restaurants. What will I find nearby?

Any thoughts/opinions will be appreciated.

TIA :flower: :sunny: :cool1:

The Howard Johnson is right across the street from Disneyland. Go to the thread stuck at the top for Good Neighbor Hotels, and you will see a link for that hotel with pics. You can see the monorail track from the pool area in the picture.

There are several restaurants within walking distance, including Mimi's Cafe (nicer than Denny's), IHOP, Dennys, McDonalds, Taco Bell, a mom/pop diner, Millies (like Dennys), and further down is Tony Roma's for ribs.

Walking past the entrances to the parks is Downtown Disney - right there - and there are a bunch of restaurants to choose.

I think you've made a good choice.

You struck gold.

Howard Johnson is a superb hotel, directly opposite the park and a 10 minute walks from the gates.

And that rate is very, very good.

A Maryjo says, right across the street you have Milly's which does great food in huge portions at a good price and between there and the DL entrance every fast food type you can think of.

Thanks to both of you for the advice....I may extend my trip by 1 more day--that would give me three days at the parks :) How big and busy are the parks? I've been to WDW and DLP, but never to DL.....

3 days is about the right length - without rushing it you need 2 days in DL and 1 in DCA.

You did make a great hotel choice - Our family was over from England and stayed there and really enjoyed it - They have two pools, close to Disneyland, very clean and pretty large rooms - The only bother is no restuarant on-site - but there is literally one right across the street (Mimi's) It is a really good -
Enjoy your stay!
