did I just get upgraded at BCV without even being there yet?

this is CRAZY - I just checked my reservation online and have done so in the past, but today, I look and it says "Room type" One bedroom villa - we booked a studio and of course, already left the deposit (more than one night's stay) - and I could have SWORN it said "Studio" last time I looked - so what do you think? are we already getting magical treatment before we even check in? I'm trying not to get my hopes up - but this is exciting.

oh, I check in next week. ::MickeyMo

Very well could be. :earsboy: WOW. But stay level headed just in case so you are not disappointed. Make sure your prices / $$$ etc... . are ALL in ORDER, and not changed, since you did not make the change. ;) Otherwise, I would keep an eye on it, and watch and if everything is in order you might very well be in for a nice surprise. ::MickeyMo :wizard: ::MickeyMo .

Either way have a great trip. Mky princess:

I actually called to find out! maybe that was a bad move - but I NEVER mentioned what I saw - I just said, I wanted to confirm what type of room I have and she said "Beach Club Villas" and "Studio". I just said "OK, Thanks" but I did print it out and i'll take it with me - you know, just incase.

I see you're leaving soon also - you have a nice trip as well :wizard:

You paid for more than one night deposit. Do you think they think that that deposit for a a one bedroom instead of a studio?? You might want to double check.

If they did upgrade you then congratulations!

I did pay a little more than one night's deposit - I believe $50.00 more....The balance due is the exactly what it should be. So, who knows what the deal is.

I guess we'll find out. Should I mention it at the resort? or just see what happens?

any suggestions on whether or not to approach this when I check in? or should I just forget about it - naturally, I'd love the upgrade - but I don't know how to even bring it up.

I would just forget about it. They have a studio in the computer system according to your phone call so I'm pretty sure that is what you will end up with and it is what you paid for.

It's certainly not the first time I have heard about information on the online system being incorrect.

Have a good time. :sunny:

Never heard of upgrades happening before the guest even checks in - unless there is some issue with the resort (like a major rehab) and then Disney is contacting the guests ahead of arrival.

Upgrades at the DVC resorts are very rare, although not totally unheard of. Cash guests are more likely to be upgraded than points guests, but again, upgrades are very rare.

Like NCombs, my guess is that the info on the web site is incorrect. Wouldn't be the first time.

Best wishes-

ok - I just wanted another opinion...actually, the funny thing is, i've seen it change. but yeah, i'll just let it go.

I would not hold my breath for the upgrade. Just expect what you paid for. You may be pleasantly surprised. Good luck!! :flower:

Their online system seems to have a mind of it's own. You think they would do better with that kind of thing.

But whatever room you end up with, the Epcot area is great. I'm sure you will have a great time. We stayed at BC last year and are trying BWV next year. :wizard:

Let us know if you did get an upgrade after you get back but like someone else mentioned that's pretty rare at the DVC properties.

Have a great time.

i'll be sure to let everyone know. I'm REALLY excited about staying at BCV - I haven't stayed at the Beach Club for 10 years!

I had an upgrade at the CR that was made about a week before I checked in. I received a Confirmation letter in the mail that showed the different view, but it had the same price I had originally paid. The CRO had the original view in their system.
Soooooo maybe you were upgraded. Hope that to be the case. Good luck!

I loved getting up in the morning and walking around the lake area. It was so peaceful and beautiful.

I'm SO excited! We LOVE the Epcot resorts - I've stayed at Beach Club, Boardwalk and the Swan and love them all. I had originally planned on staying at the Coronado Springs resort but one more person changed their mind and we switched to BCV. Now, it's 3 of us and we can't WAIT!

hmm... :earseek: that sounds great! The one bedroom villa looks AMAZING. But, I don't want to get my hopes up to much.

I did have an upgrade already in the system before I arrived as well. I found out because I was staying at a different resort and went by the front desk of the resort I was checking into the next day to request a certain floor and they told me it would not be possible because I was in a deluxe room. So I know the upgrade was in the system at least one day before I check in.

Please let us know what happens. :flower:

i would be honest... say hey, i know i reserved a studio... i know i am paying for a studio... i know i will be happy w/a studio... but could ya tell me why this says "one bedroom villa" and what are the possibilities of getting upgraded to a one bedroom since i have it in writing, even though i'm sure it's erroneous... if they have a one bedroom available, they may appreciate your honesty, your not pushing to get something that you are not paying for, and your down to earth-ness about it, and reward you w/a one bedroom (again, if it is available)... or they may offer you the one bedroom at a slightly higher rate than you are paying, but not full rack of what it would have been if you had reserved it in the beginning... it certainly cannot hurt to bring the paper with you and be honestly confused... good luck and no matter what room you get, ENJOY! :flower:

hmm...yeah, I could approach it that way. I did print it out and it's with my travel stuff. We aren't expecting ANYTHING - actually, we don't even request specific floors, or things like that and never even dreamed of being upgraded - the only thing we say is "Non Smoking" but other than that - we don't care.

but, i'm sure i'll enjoy anything I get there :earboy2:
