Well, FOOOH! I thought I was doing so well in making the reservations 6 months early for CC luncheon and now all I'm reading about is Cinderella's Gala Feast at 1900 Park Fare...should I try and change?? Our girls are 6 & 9 and I'm sure would love being with any princesses....OPINIONS PLEASE...we're going middle of October..time is running out!!

we've done Cinderella's breakfast and the Princess Storybook breakfast, and actually preferred the Princess Storybook breakfast.... although I wouldn't go there for lunch, though. Is it a lunch meal you're looking for?

Can you give me information on the difference? I thought the girls would like to dress up...so is it better for breakfast? And why not lunch? because they'll be dressed up. Why did you prefer Storybook (is that the "Gala Feast"
I'm confused, as usual.

IMO - Do not give up your ressie at CRT. It is a wonderful experience for your girls to dress up and meet Cindy and the other princesses in the actual castle. PSB is in Norway at Epcot and also has the princesses. 1900 PF - "gala feast" is Cindy and her step family and the prince. It is a dinner seating only and very interactive and comical. But nothing beats dining in the castle all dressed up. I think you've made the right choice and we have done all three numerous times.

Don't give up your reservation. Everyone needs to eat in the castle at least once! Your girls will LOVE it!

We just got back and I was having 2nd thoughts about my CRT reservation but I am so glad we kept it.. We had lunch there at it was awesome (so much better than dinner, we did that last year) We also did the Cindy family dinner at the GF which was great because my girls love the stepsisters and they do provide a great deal of entertainment. And we also had lunch at Norway which is the storybook lunch. If your girls are all about Cindy then do the Castle and or the GF. If they love all the princesses then do the Castle and or the storybook. I agree with the PP you have to eat in the castle once it is magical

We did both, and the CRT is so worth it. If you have reservations, keep them. They are so hard to get. Just being the in the castle is worth it alone. The food in there is pretty good too, and there was great character interaction with ALL the princesses. At 1900 PF, you just get Cindy and Prince Charming and Lady Tremaine and the Step Sisters. My girls loved that one too because the interaction was so funny, and my girls got to dance with Cinderella! The food wasn't too bad either. If you have it in your budget, do both! They are very difference experiences.

We just had our 1st meal at the castle a few weeks ago (lunch) and loved it! I agree that it is worth eating in the castle at least once. We also had a great princess line-up (Cinderella, Snow, Belle, Jasmine, Aurora). I say keep it.:thumbsup2

I've done both CRT (lunch) and 1900 Park Fare. While 1900 Park Fare was fun, nothing beats eating in the castle. The atmosphere is amazing, and the food is really good.

My opinion is that eating lunch in the castle and all that goes with it (wink...there is a wonderful suprise!) will exceed all of your expectations!! It's one of my fondest memories from our Nov. 2006 trip. Both of our girls dressed up like Cinderella and, as a family, we had such a special time.....not so much from meeting Cinderella but just the whole entire experience. Even if your girls' favorite princess is not Cinderella (ours is Mulan) they will still LOVE LOVE LOVE it and so will you!!

There is no way you should cancel your reservation!!:wizard:

WHOO HOO!! Thanks for all the positive responses...am really looking forward to this time with our granddaughters, even PaPa is going to CC with us just to see the look on their faces! If they dress up, surely they will want to change during the day, right? We're staying off site so I thought I'd take along shorts and maybe rent a locker for their fancy clothes? This is the best website!

That is a good plan :)

I don't know your budget, but have you heard about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique? There are several threads about it on this forum.

We had breakfast at PSB in Norway - and my girls dressed up for it. I took a change of clothes in my bag because I assumed they would want to change afterwards. They never wanted to take the princess dresses off all day! So - they will surprise you. Be prepared with a change of clothes, but let the girls decide what they want to do. (The CM's will call them "princess" and "your highness" all day on all the rides!)

I think you should keep your CRT reservation. 1900 sounds like fun too - so if you can do both, I think it would be fun.

We did CRT breakfast in February and my DD4 (at the time) was in her Cinderella dress. It was a WONDERFUL experience. Don't give up your reservation. I have never eaten lunch there, but am sure it's fine.

We also did breakfast at Akershus Storybook in Epcot and loved that as well. Both were wonderful experiences.

I am doing 1900 Park Fare foor dinner (and it's a buffet) on Friday, Oct 3 and can give you a report after, but I don't think this one is "princess heavy"...I think you can get the mother and the stepsisters and maybe Cindy and the Prince, but again, I'll be a first timer next week.

I say stick with CRT.....eating in the castle is a very magical experience and your girls will LOVE it.

We had breakfast at CRT when DD was 3 y.o. and she talked about it for ages afterwards. She has always wanted to go back, so we plan to have lunch there next April.

We did Cinderella's Gala Feast (before the Stepmother and Stepsisters were added) and Princess Storybook Lunch when DD was 5 y.o. and loved both of them, too. Our DD was thrilled to meet Ariel with legs - only possible at Akershus in Norway. ;)

I'm going to move this over to the restaurant board for you.

We have dined at 1900 Park Fare, Akershus and CRT.

Our favorite is CRT. We like the fact that no part of it is a buffet ... you walk in, get your picture with Cindy, and then wait until a host or hostess takes you upstairs to the dining room to be seated. Once seated, the meal is served to you and the princesses visit your table. The dining room is full, but it doesn't seem overly crowded.

1900 Park Fare has the best food and the step sisters are quite funny. But, it is a buffet. So, we constantly found ourselves trying to time our trips to the buffet between character visits ... this is the way all character buffets work and I don't find it that relaxing. Also, we were seated in the back hall of this restaurant and our tables were really too close (to the point where the lady at the table behind my DD had to get out, push her chair in and stand in the aisle so I could exit & enter our row to the buffet ...).

Akershus has the most princess bang for your buck. I think they have 5 princesses at every meal ... plus you get to see Ariel "on feet". Akershus is jam packed though (tables are really close together) and you have to wait in a long line outside the restaurant. Also, the apetizer and salad portion of the meal is a buffet ... so you run into the same problems getting back and forth between princesses. The food is fine.

At all three meals, I saw girls dressed in princess outfits. Drisella actually made fun of my girls b/c they both wore Cinderella dresses to Park Fare ... she was really in character.

We just got back and had bkfast at CRT which was WONDERFUL!! my twin 3 year daughters loved it!! The castle was very cool. We also had breakfast at 1900 park Fare with Mary Poppins, Alice, Pooh and Tigger and that was nice as well. We also had dinner at Askerhaus in Norway which was also great. My husband and I thought CRT was the best of all 3. They give the girls wands and little boys swords and the food was good. Let me know if you have any questions.

WE also have done both - and I love the castle - its just an awe inspiring, over the top Lovely experience. Having lunch allows you to get to the park, tour all of fantsyland, go to lunch then head back to the resort for a rest!

My dd loved wearing her dress, but I had the shorts under her dress and brought one of those space bags, when she got tired of the attention (lots of Princesses wear their dresses and crowns in the park!) she changed, and I put the dress in the space bag, rolled the air out of it, and when we got back to the room, hung it up (no wrinkles!) She wore comfy shoes, and she kept her crown on -

We love the breakfast at Norway - because Aurora is always there!! Belle in her lovely gold dress... at CRT its Cindy, and sometimes Aurora - - so DD would rather eat at Norway, she likes the breakfast food better there (buffet) and doesnt feel as rushed... (she's 11 now - and opionated!! I prefer the Castle! lol)

As far as costumes go:
We went in August when it was, of course, very hot. DD5 just wore a sundress and when it was time for lunch, we slipped the dress on over it and tidied up her hair. I didn't worry about the shoes, they don't show in her pic. (I think she was wearing purple crocs?:rotfl: )

Have fun. We had a great waiter who besides treating my daughter like a princess, was extremely kind to DS9 who he referred to as the prince.
