Ooh, what just happened? It used to say "Earning my ears" beneath my username and now it says, "Mouseketeer!"

Did I hit some magic posting threshold or did something magical happen?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

You reached the level just up from "Earning My Ears"...I can't remember how many posts it is, but the next level is "Mouseketeer"

I've been waiting with baited breath to get tagged as well...the way you'll know for sure, tags are in colors (not the dark blue the "regular" levels are).

a popular question - A Tag is a signature line under your user name, you can add one yourself by going to the "user CP" at the top of the page, left... edit mode... BUT to get a "colored" "TAG" a very nice, special person (persons) here at the Dis, runs around, reads threads, (many times on the Community Board, but not limited there!!) and then goes in and adds a "tag" and the Tag Fairies are the only ones that can add color to those lines...

My "tags" involve my innocence... when I first started researching our first trip to WDW, I kept reading people's post about this "Pixie Dust" well, I wanted to make sure I had this "Pixie Dust" along with the "Pin Trading Pins' so I innocently asked if I needed to 'buy my pixie dust at the mall, before we left!! (I was thinking a store called Looby Lu has this glitter in a bag...)

So when I read threads I also read what's under their user name, some of the tag lines are cute, funny, or hysterical!!

so a Tag Fairy is like a Tooth Fairy, but instead of taking teeth, the tag fairies leave 'tags'!!

As you are visiting the boards...have you ever noticed the "colored sayings" under everyones name/handle? That's a tag...they didn't do that themselves. You can add different stuff there (like I did) but you can't add stuff in different colors...only the GREAT AND POWERFUL TAG FAIRIES can do that!

From what I understand, they peruse the message boards and see stuff that's been posted...if you've posted something funny or somehow remarkable (to them) it will get put under your name in a different color...then you will know you have been tagged!

It's very special to get tagged by a TAG FAIRY!!!

Ok, I am now a "Mousekeeter" (yaaaaaaa) but what about the "Smilies Icons". There is a whole bunch to the rigtht of my screen and just a few on the botton. It looks like I can only use the ones on the bottom. Can someone please explain this to me.

Unless there is something weird going on, you should be able to use the ones on the right side of your screen.

Just click on whatever one you want and some formatted text will be inserted but it will show up as a smilie.

Just be careful about where your cursor is...sometimes they jump around a bit.

Congrats on the promotion.
My understanding of the tag fairy is they read posts and pick things out to add under your name--Mine came when I had been hanging out more at the Cruise Board and chatting with some shrimp stealers from the buffets.
Just keep posting and someday when you least expect it, you will be tagged.
