Ok, so DH, DS and I were just wandering DTD today - went to check out T-Rex and maybe do some pin prowling on the cast lanyards. We are not big collectors, but we like getting certain characters that we all like. Well, out in front of the Pin Store in DTD, there were several tables of pin traders. We met two women who noticed we had taken a liking to some of their Toy Story and Nightmare Before Xmas pins. One woman offered us a set of 3 Disneyland Paris pins of Buzz, a Martian and Emporer Zurg, an LE pin of Woody holding a balloon that was Buzz, a Nightmare before Xmas pin with Jack and a moving ghost dog and then a pin with one of the lock, shock and barrel (not sure of the names/spelling) characters. She, in turn, took me into the pin store and pointed out 6 pins she would trade me for if I bought those. My cost?? Almost $80. But she said the Disneyland Paris ones were great ones to have. After checking out eBay and wandering the internet a bit, I think I was taken...for a pretty penny nonetheless. Anyone know about pins and whether or not I got ripped off??

geez, i'm sorry that someone did that to you. unfortunately some people are out to get the better of people. most of the people that my dh and i have met are pretty reasonable, the red flag went up for me when you said she took you into the store and showed you the pins she wanted:scared1: i hope it wont keep you from continuing with this fun hobby; good luck.

So, you are saying it sounds like she got the best of me huh? Well, I won't likely trade with any one of those people outside the stores again...not a chance...I feel like an **** honestly. Are there any websites out there that list all the pins and their values??

There is a website, I beleive that you can see the cost of every pin and check to see if you did infact get ripped off, problem is I can't remember what it is.

If I were you I would ask over on the collectors board, these folks will know for sure and can help you a lot.

Good luck, nothing is worse than thinking that you have been taken advantage of.
