Did I get reservation based on glitch and should I be worried?

Full disclosure, I was one of those people who said I was done with Disney. It took one text from my daughter asking if I wanted to go in April and that was the end of my boycott. I'm old and suffering from the YOLO syndrome. Trying to make a long story short. Had a reservation at POFQ all set. My daughter gets a pin code, but of course I can't use it. She goes through countless hours of holding, getting disconnected, etc. Makes a reservation with the up to $100 off for 5 nights special, thinking she can maybe apply the pin code with the help of a CM. Once she has reservation, I cancel. Since I compulsively look up availability for Yacht and Beach Club way too much, I did it shortly after I cancel. A standard room pops up for Beach Club. My daughter couldn't see it, nor could the CM helping her. I went in and out several times and it would appear on 2 different devices. The CM thought it would not work when I actually tried to purchase. It did. I have confirmation number etc. Does Disney ever rescind a reservation?

I've gotten a reservation on a glitch before and was able to keep it. I wasn't able to modify it (add nights or anything) but they let me keep it. It was prior to the shut down, they did an oopsie huge discount on the garden cottage rooms at BWI (something like 70% off) and it was up for 30 minutes before they caught it and took it down. Anyway, different situation to yours, but even with that Disney didn't come back and go "yeah, that was a mistake, you gotta give that back". The CM may have not refreshed their screen, I'm not sure what their end looks like, but if someone cancelled or moved ,and you pulled up fresh listings, they might not have seen that new availability. The system won't just show up stuff that's not there, and I highly doubt that if you were able to pull it up on two different devices AND you have a confirmation number that the room wasn't available for booking. Even if it wasn't, if you show up (or anyone that booked a room in that category over the same time), if they over sold that category they'll just move you to another room of equal or greater value. Even if lesser value they'll compensate you for the difference (and if not you can be like "nope, not moving, sorry....you made a mistake you fix it"). In cases like this I just screen shot everything and keep every email confirmation, I always create a trip folder in my email and put every email for that trip in that folder, that way if there is any issue I can pull it up and be like "but look!". If you booked it, put a deposit down, and have a confirmation they have to honor it.

Thank you so much, I appreciate it!

I'm having trouble fully understanding what happened - were your daughter and the CM looking at PIN code inventory and you were looking at other discount inventory? That could be the discrepancy. If you have a confirmation number, you have a reservation.

This is a good point I didn't think of, they could have been looking at different inventory. If you looked at the AP discount inventory and the GP $500 (or whatever you want to call it) discount online there was different inventory, so chances are the pin code inventory was different as well.

No, they were looking at all inventory. Don’t understand what happened. 🤷‍♀️

I don't think it's possible for your DD to look at all inventory.

Besides that, if you had the room in your cart, that's likely why no one else could see it. It says it locks it up for like 15 min or something

At any rate, confirmation number, you have a reservation.

Never heard of Disney cancelling a reservation due to no availability. They’d just move you to an equivalent resort. I see no reason for concern here.
