Did I get a good rate through Enterprise? Never rented a car before.

I got a small SUV, such as a Ford Escape, Jeep Liberty, ect. with Enterprise for 8 days for a total of $338. Is this a good price. They were cheaper than the other rental companies I checked in Chattanooga. This is rack rate for them. Time frame is August 18-26th.

Could I do better? Does Enterprise ever come out with any discount codes? Do you think that any of the other companies would possibly come out with a code that would beat this rate?

I don't think that's a bad rate. Does that includes taxes and fees? THOSE will greatly influence the cost.

You could possibly do better. You're so far out, you need to keep checking, probably once a week until August then almost daily.

The rate will depend on a LOT of factors. Where, when, and what's going on.

I don't think that is bad.. We are renting a small SUV through enterprise as well for 14 days and our total is $1163.49, that includes all taxes along with full coverage insurance

Note that Enterprise usually limits taking a car from the rental state to only adjoining states without paying a surcharge/mileage fee.

You may want to ask.

I looked and it did appear to be all the fees and such included. There is not unlimited miles on it, like 1500 I think which will be plenty since it will only be around a 1300 mile round trip, so I think we will be just fine on mileage.

So the closer I get to my dates the rates my come down? I will have to check on the adjoining state thingy though. I certainly don't want to arrive there with a number already set in my mind and they come up with a bunch of BS fees!

We rented back on 2010 and drove from PA to FL and it was unlimited miles.. We checked again with enterprise this time and it is also unlimited miles again.

We didn't go through Enterprise because of the no driving out of state rule. We found a Chevy Equinox through Hertz for the 6-16th at a total of $395.00. The mousesavers.com discount and the visa discount (visa was cheapest) got it down from the original $560.00. Hertz doesn't have any state restrictions and unlimited milage. Do your homework and you might still find a better deal out there. Best of luck!

Ok, I went back and also put my name down for a full-size vehicle for the same dates for 243.39. I got to thinking and the full size cars will get a little better gas mileage and they are cheaper. I just don't know which one I will keep. (Is this wrong to do this?)

I have two the same place using different discounts under the same name. I will know which one I use when I pick up the car Saturday (planning on the cheaper one of course) In my crazy mind I secretly think the prices drop the more reservations they have. I had 5 at one point trying to get lower prices until they finally said they were out of stock It wasn't more than 30 minutes but I saved over $150.00 eventually.

try carentalsaver.com, they have codes and links to all of the major players. The rule of thumb is as the time gets closer the rates go up. If you find a better rate just cancel the old ones out. In time pass when a person booked to many cars under their name, all of the resevations was cancelled

That is not a bad rate for 8 days. But, are you renting in FL or TN?

Alamo and National are owned by Enterprise, just a FYI. You could join their programs and see if you can get that rate down. Alamo program is "Insiders" and Nationals is "Emerald Club". Insiders gives you at least 10% off. Both programs are free to join.

If you can give us exact dates, times and location we might be able to help you out.

You have the best rate I could find. Keep checking and join those programs. Rates tend to drop the closer you get to your trip.

We have always rented through Enterprise as in our small town they have always had great rates w/o hidden BS fees The only "fee" they may not have in total is insurance? We always take their bumper to bumper tho never used it just felt safer paying for theirs versus claim on ours?! The out of state rule I will not say doesn't exist as they always ask where we are going and we are always truthful so maybe they note it? We have traveled outside of connecting states w/o any extra expense tho :-/ Have a great&safe trip

Absolutely! My point was the RATE was, I thought, pretty good especially in the market I was renting in (9.95 Enterprise weekends seem to be few and far between in the markets I seem to be in when that rate is in effect).

We are renting through Enterprise in August and have a reservation with unlimited miles. I still called and asked, and was told if you have unlimited miles you can go wherever you wish.

That is the same thing they told us. We are renting in August with unlimited miles.
