Did I do the right thing?

Going to WDW May 13th 16th, then onto the Disney Cruise 16th -19th. We always stay at Poly lagoon view Conc. I called today to make a ressie at the Poly, but.......was talked out of it. She said that since its only going to be me and my DD (11y.o.) that I should consider staying at the Y.C. She said that this is the hotel that the bus will pick us up at to go to the cruise, and its much better here than the Poly. Well, Like I said.We've ONLY stayed at the Poly. (also the contemp. and G.F.) never at the Y.C. We arent staying conc. at the Y.C. Someone please tell me I did the right thing by booking the Y.C. And yes, the price was much better at the Y.C.

IMHO, I think it's a really personal choice as to which resort to stay at.

No matter how many posts I read, there's always someone who likes a resort & another person who doesn't like that same resort.

I know this doesn't really help you, & I'm sorry, I wish I could be more helpful. But, I think picking these resorts is kinda like having a favorite color, there's really no "wrong" choice.

IMHO, you should stay where you're heart & mind & wallet tells you to. Like I said already, it's just a really personal choice.

hi: if your child likes pools, then stormalong bay at the yc/bc is going to fit the bill. my kids (teens and twenties) love it. another plus for the yc is its location. it is very easy to walk to both epcot and mgm from there. with an 11 yo, these 2 parks might be a bit more fun than with toddlers. also, you'll be very close to a ton of great eating places either within the resort, at the s/d next door, or the bw across the lake. my kids do prefer the epcot resorts area now over the mk area resorts. it will depend on you and your daughter's preferences. this will give you two a chance to try out another resort area for possible future stays.

YC is a beautiful place ,we have not stayed there but have gone through it many times.(going to Olivias the LONG way)
Give it a try and spend some of the money you saved on a special cruise memento. We have found that if you spend too much time worrying if you are going to enjoy something you end up forgetting to have fun.

We stayed at Yacht Club last Sept and loved everything about it!!!I would recommend it.

We've stayed at both. We like the yc better for the pool and resort in general, but its had to beat a monorail resort. You won't be disapointed, change is good, at least that is what my boss always tells me.

I have stayed at both resorts and I like the Poly very much but I love the YC. It is a beautiful resort with the best pool on WDW property, the location can't be beat and there are many wonderful restaurants within walking distance. I bet you will be very happy with your decision to stay at the YC.
