I got a letter in the mail today telling me I could sell my Disney Vacation Club Timeshare for CASH!!!

I was wondering if, perhaps, hell had frozen over. Because that's what it would take to sell my DVC contract!

There is some outfit in Texas that sends us a similar offer letter about once a month.

We got our invitation to do so on Saturday! It's been trashed.

We have gotten those more than once. We have 2 contracts and the letter will specify one or the other. They have already offered to buy our VWL contract and we haven't even used it yet. Not ready to sell, but it is nice to know that if we ever had to there would be no problem. Dh was out of work for a couple of weeks but just gotten an offer in Tx

There are many scams out there. Most either take your timeshare "off your hands" or you pay an upfront fee for the expectation of big rental or sales prices. Keep your money in your wallet and shred the papers. There are legitimates sales venues as well as other scams to watch out for.

I got so many offers to buy from this one guy Stroman or something like that, I finally called their 800 # and said they might as well take me off their list.... I have no plans of selling and if was to sell I already have a trusted broker. The mailings stopped.

This is who we get offers from as well Laura. We have both DVC and an offsite timeshare so I'm not exactly sure which one they want to take off my hands, but neither is up for sale. Stroman sends us mailings at least once a month for years now---you would think they'd give up already !

Call them.... heck it is a toll free call. The mailings stopped right away.

Thanks Laura ! I definitely will. I think I've hesitated up until now because I didn't want to be engaged in some sales tactic/talk. But I'm tired of throwing these mailings out.

We have received a few of these "offers", but I can't remember from whom.

The interesting thing is they are always for out VWL contract which we got on resale, but none on the BCV contract we got direct from Disney.
