Did DVC Violate The Contract For Beach Club Villa Owners?

I am a BCV owner, and have never used the Bathtub there, or at any other DVC resort. AND, we have a large corner jetted tub in my master bathroom, that I have used 2X in 21 years. HA. DH has used it 10-15X, for his back. We did put the kids in it a few times when they were young, in bathing suits, because it is huge. (I would love to pull it out, the corner tubs are a bit dated nowadays).

Anyway, I think it is good they removed them, because of the issues cleaning them.

Last week my DSis took a very relaxing bath in the new BCV soaker tub. I'm OK with the change. We own at BCV if that matters.

The problem with complaints like this is that DVC members tend to flock in two different direction....one is a group that amenities and things like your talking about where a major player in why they purchased....Then there is another group that those things were nice but they are not that big an issue that it bothers them very much....because of this split in ownership interest, i have seen numerous posts like this descend into folks upset about a degradation of ownership, and another group who can quote the ownership agreement verbatim, that basically nothing but the room and the point allocations are guaranteed....i definitely fall into the former category, as for me the DVC and Disney I bought into in 2000 is not what I experience today.....that being said, there is enough people on the other side of this argument that , IMO, DVC can pretty much give and take without much consequence.....for example, i have always found the discount for passes for DVC folks to be ridiculous. Especially for folks who have invested tens of thousands of dollars into Disney....but the minute i say it, I get a cascade of "DVC is separate from Disney" and "Disney is not a charity" messages....so it really becomes a lost cause

Staying at the BCV now in a one bedroom and even though my wife said she was disappointed in the jacuzzi tub, she does like the soaker tub. A bigger concern for us is that the refrigerator does not have an ice machine anymore. I guess that was a cost saver and lucky the ice machine is only a few doors down. I am loving the new room updates and construction is in full swing and remarkably quite,

lots of the 1 and 2 bedroom don't have the ice machine - the only exception that I know about is OKW - there everyone did have an ice maker.

But the technical and legal issue is what control's DVCMC's options and commitment. The rest is meaningless in a discussion of what they can, can't and should/shouldn't do.

Well, we are not homed there - so the effect is pretty much zero.

Now - all personal opinion, no dog in this fight..... with ANY contract, there is exactly one way to determine, beyond doubt, if a contract violation has occurred....

Sue. If you win? You were right.

Yup, VERY long shot. WDW can likely outlive you. They know that. But that is sort of how anyone resolves contract law disputes in the US :(.

It's not so much that many of us who try to explain the Disney side, like it, but we "understand" it. I understand why we don't get certain discounts and why how much we spent for DVC does not affect that. I understand what I paid for and what I was guaranteed. Sure I would love a huge discount on tickets but not disappointed I don't get it.

I understand why we no longer get free valet parking. Do I miss it, heck yea, But not disappointed with DVC over it as many are.

Sure, some do but given the realities of the decision, there really was only one they could make. Any reasonable person would have made the same decision big picture. The area to quibble with and it seems to be a theme with DVC, is how it was done. I'm not sure it's sad, that's the way it should be since it's the only way to have an objective measure.
