Remember the widely publicized (http://articles.latimes.com/2012/aug/14/local/la-me-disney-muslim-lawsuit-20120814) lawsuit by the CM who claimed she was denied permission to wear a hijab while performing her hostess duties at Storytellers Cafe in Disneyland's Grand Californian Resort.

I wrote a blog post about it before its as a lawsuit: http://www.disunplugged.com/2010/09/08/the-clash-between-the-disney-look-and-religious-customs/

Today, the federal court dismissed the lawsuit at the request of both parties. I can't tell for sure, but it looks like the lawsuit settled. All I know for sure is that the parties jointly asked the lawsuit be dismissed. That almost always indicates the case settles (especially since the trial was scheduled to start on April 22, 2014) but since the terms of a private settlement do not have to be disclosed we may never know.

Great job jack once again shows your dedication to the law and Disney and great reporting you do :):)

She was actually on Dr. Phil today talking about how her mother ostracizes against her as she was not raised Muslim.

and I was really hoping her 15 minutes were up.

I noticed a cast member in the Emporium wearing a head covering a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if that was part of the deal.

It wasn't a class action. Disney has been willing to permit some head wear as long as it is consistent with the costume. It offered her several choices.

I know it wasn't class action. I was wondering if part of the deal was that the Disney policy had to change, but if they already allowed head coverings, then I don't understand why the plaintiff even filed.

Disney allows covering consistent with the costume. She claimed the coverings Disney proposed were not appropriate. Absent a class settlement, I don't see Disney making policy changes.
