:scared1: Holy moly...this programme made me sick to my stomach, literally. I don't see how i'm ever going to be able to leave Matilda with anyone I don't know!

Nursery seems totally out of the question, they seemed so noisy and I was shocked to see how little the workers were paid and how young and seemingly inexperienced they were. And the hazards, the hot radiator, being around those contractors and the electric drills. :scared:

The Mark Warner place didn't bother me so much because I wouldn't leave my young kids for the day in a club whilst on a 'family' holiday. I felt so sorry for those kids, most of them seemed under the age of 5! Why would you go on holiday with your toddler and then just leave him with some young kids for the whole day? What are the parents doing? :confused3

Maybe its just new mother jitters i'm having but the whole programme upset me a lot and I just thank God my parents are coming over from Portugal to live with us for the next year or so when I go back to work. Gives me a bit of time to figure out what to do re childcare - anyone know how I can get hold of Mary Poppins???

I didn't watch this program because i always findthem upsetting.

I watched the first part and as a nursery nurse i was disguisted and really don't know how they get away with it. In the end i turned over especially when i saw the girl count 13 children in her care. I do think though programmes like this give the care section a bad name and not everyone or everywhere is like this, most people generally care about their job and take it seriously.

I watched it.....i was very dissapointed that they concentrated on the childcare providers and not as much on OFSTED ! their organisation is deeply flawed and more could have been made on that fact.

That said those nurseries were terrible ! there is one near where i live just like it though and parents place children there all the time :confused3

I watched it and thought those nurseries where awful. I cant believe how easy it ws for that girl to get a job without any checks

My dd, Kirsty went to one of the David Lloyd nurseries from 6 months untill she went to school and we were very pleased with the care and attention the carers gave. I dropped her off at 8.00 and Mark picked her up at 6.00.
The carers were young and there was a high turnover of staff but we thought that it was good for Kirsty to get used to lots of different people and I truly believe the experience did her good and not harm her at all.

We have nothing but happy memories and although Kirsty can't remember that much she remembers they went swimming, learnt tennis and even went on many trips to places like legoland.

Kirsty learnt to read and things such as days of the week and months etc. when she went to reception she lost all she learnt as they didn't seem to learn anything for a whole year.

When she started school she had a childminder in the morning and one after school. Kirsty is a very happy, kind well behaved teenager and shows no ill effects of what many people think "a bad" childhood. As we both work we spent quality time at the weekends and holiday time with Kirsty, which has worked out best for our family. All families are different and have different needs.

Please don't let these programmes put you off using a nursery. Its just a shame they only show the bad nurseries on these programmes and never the good ones.

What i'm scared of is how on earth can you know which ones are good and which ones aren't? I mean, that guy who ran Buttons had his spiel down pat when people came to look and made sure that place was up to scratch.

I'm still hoping to find a super childminder or Mary Poppins ;)

I watched it and I am guessing childminding calls will be down this month

poeple will just paint us all with the same brush

I watched it, i could not take my eyes of the screen in total amazement.

The poor child that was in the speed boat, why on earth do you take toddlers on a speed boat trip!

I agree a family holiday is a FAMILY holiday.
