I was at work, but I heard it advertised on the radio. I went to Oprah's website and pulled up some of the links to do some reading.

Jacqui's story is heartbreaking and utterly amazing....but I'll warn you - it's not easy to look at or to read.:(

That young woman is amazing. Such terrible injuries, my heart breaks for her but her attitude and faith and strength are amazing. Bless her. I saw the Oprah program yesterday. I don't usually watch her program but for some reason I had the television on when the program started so I watched.

I watched the show yesterday and I was so amazed at her strength and courage. I was crying during parts of her story. She really touched my heart.

How sad. :(

I cannot believe people still drink and drive, after all the warnings and terrible stories like these. Its so easy to just call a cab if you are going to drink, why don't people just DO this???? My friend's parents were killed last year as a result of a drunken driver on his 4th DWI, leaving her little sister orphaned. :( Finally this guy is locked up in prison, but it took 4 times and the death of two people to make it happen. :(

That girl is so courageous. I cannot imagine. Makes my little problems seem trivial. What an inspiration she is to us all.

Last week my brother sent me an e-mail that was all about her story, and it included the photos of her as a little girl, her on the beach and then the shots of her in the hospital after the crash.

Absolutely heartbreaking.:(

**sighs** How awful. And the guy gets 7 years and $20K fine. Big deal, he killed two outright, and another for her entire life, along with their families and friends. How very sad. :(

That is so sad..just breaks my heart....:(

We just had 2 young people killed on the freeway by the offramp to get to our house last week. The 2 19 yos stopped in the emergency lane because their car had troubles.. the girl called her dad who was on the way to pick them up when another 19 year old (drunk) didnt want to wait for traffic and pulled into the emergnecy lane and was doing 70 MPH when he hit them from behind. Both kids in the stalled car died. I didnt find out til 2 days later about what happened but the freeway was closed for 3 hours. (Thats how I knew something was going on)

It is so sad. You really wonder why these kids dont know better. Some kids do obviously..but not enough of them... :(
