about the little 5 month old girl who was taken from her parents house a few years back?? I saw only part of a story on our local news that said they believe they have found the little girl. Her name is Sabrina and she was taken from her parents home when she was 5 months old. The police were watching the parents, believing they had done something to the baby. I missed most of the story but heard they are checking DNA on a little girl to see if she is the same girl.
I was looking on then net at CNN and NCFM&CP but didnt see any story. Anyone else see this?

i just saw the story on Good Morning America. The girl "Paloma" as she's named, does bare a very good resemblance to missing Sabrina....

I just heard a short blurb and saw pics of the baby and the girl side by side. They do like alike. I just searched and found this but no picture.
Trying again with a link! Nevermind. I shall copy!
Aisenbergs Request DNA Testing Of Child Who Resembles Sabrina
Fri May 2, 3:20 AM ET

By CASSIO FURTADO, TAMPA - A former Tampa couple who won $2.8 million for a botched investigation of their missing daughter have requested a DNA test to determine whether a 6-year-old found in a rural Illinois town is their child.

Sabrina Aisenberg was nearly 5 months old when she vanished from her Valrico home Nov. 24, 1997.

Investigators working for her parents' attorneys say the child found in Pontiac, Ill., a town of 12,000, south of Chicago, may be Sabrina.

Old pictures of the Illinois child, known as Paloma, show a close resemblance to Sabrina, the daughter of Marlene and Steve Aisenberg.

Full story at Tampa Bay Online

Is that the family who said someone came into their home and took their baby in the middle of the night....but there was no sign of forced entry....something like that?

Thanks for the info lorix and BBB. nkjzmom--If I remember correctly I think they found an open door or something like that. They did think the parents killed her and at the time said they even had the parents on tape talking about it. Later experts said you couldnt understand most of what was said on the tape. I hope it is that little girl so the family can be reunited with her. That has to be the worse thing imaginable--someone taking your child. There is also another story going on now about a little boy taken to the hosp by man, supposedly his dad, that they are now doing DNA testing on because they think he is an abducted child.

Thanks...I too read about that little boy being found. Apparently he wandered off from his aunt's home and was never found, until now hopefully! I did a quick search about the Aisenberg's and now I remember them. I remember thinking it was odd that their garage door was open and the house unlocked and no alarm set. But I must confess that we have accidentally left our garage door open overnight, each thinking the other had closed it. It would not be hard for someone to get in that way.:(

Hope this story ends well....for the little girl's sake.

Wow that is amazing. Yes I had heard this story. Isn't it strange in the week the Amber Alert becomes a nationwide law two children who have been missing may be recovered.

I remember the Sabrina story well, we lived in Florida at the time. They really did try to make it sound like the parents had killed her. They never found any evidence and the parents were never charged with anything. They no longer live in Florida. The strange thing is the people who have been raising her said a Mexican lady gave her to them before she was deported. They tried to get legal custody of her but could not without a birth certificate. Didn't this ever raise anyone's suspicions? It would really be sad if the authorities knew about her for years but never put 2 and 2 together! It really does look a lot like her, hope it is for the family's sake. They had older kids too. Hope this screwed up system improves quickly!!! Some lady who knew Paloma saw Sabrina's picture on the internet and may have craked a case the professionals failed to.

The picture of the little girl looks A LOT like the photo of Sabrina. But, what a shock to a 6 year old to be moved from one family to another. I do hope it is her, though.

I went to the website and read the story but I didn't see any pictures.

I heard on the radio this afternoon that the boy that was left in the hospital is not the same one that disappeard several years ago. DNA confirmed it. Judging from the pictures I saw on TV, I never thought it was the same boy. Diff. eyebrows, ears, eye color, etc.

Wrong story, bumcat.

This one is abou that little baby Sabrina that was taken from her home at age 5 months. This was 6 years ago.

They showed pictures her locally in Tampa (Valrico is right outside of Tampa) and it does look like here. The parents left their garage door open, alarm off the night that she was taken. I hope that it is her.

How heartbreaking for the missing little boys family who thought they had found him. I kind of suspected the little boy was not going to be the same one who was missing -- his dad seemed to be much to cooperative for someone who was hiding something.

I hope if this little girl is Sebrina that they don't rip her away from the only family she's ever known. I hope the adults can do whats best of the child and have a smooth transition for her to return to her real family. We saw the heartbreak of a child returned to his birth parent in my home town with the Baby Richard case. It was heartbreaking.

Count me in as one who thought the parents did it. There story didn't make sense, and they didn't even seem terribly upset at the time. I remember the police taking them in for questioning, the media was filming from across the street, and you could clearly see that both parents were laughing about something. And this was shortly after she was abducted/killed. Their behavior was odd to say the least.

I believe they moved to Baltimore after leaving Tampa. I will eat crow if this child was found alive... I was truly convinced and appalled that they were not charged.

It was also alleged that one or both of the parents used cocaine recreationally.

Pugdog, I too, remember Sabrina's parents walking out of the house laughing. That always stuck with me. I do hope that this is the missing little girl.
I had my doubts about the missing boy being the same person as the boy who turned up at that hospital. When i looked at the 2 pictures, I could tell that the nose was different. Im sad for the missing boys family- to get their hopes up only to find out that it wasnt him.

Jules - I was responding to 4greatboys post, she mentioned the boy that was left in the hospital.
I also remember Sabrina but didn't see anything on the news about it.
