Samantha Brown did a Great Hotels episode at Disney's Grand Californian. That hotel looked really nice. I especially liked the room she stayed in, a suite with a pull out couch and the bedroom with two (I think double though) beds. It looked very roomy. It'll be on again on:

I just got finished watching Great Hotels. I recorded it today. I was so pleased to see Samantha again doing a Disney Hotel. I think she really enjoys doing the Disney ones!! I hope they do more hotels about Disney. I think it would be cool if they did some on the hotels at Disneyland Paris and Tokyo!!:teeth:

I saw that new episode today as well. What a gorgeous place!! My husband and I have been talking about going to Disneyland for awhile now and I was curious what that hotel looked like. Now I know!!!

I've always wondered how much of her show is "just for the cameras". While I was on sick leave from work a couple of months ago, I got to watch a lot of the Great Hotels episodes.

Although they are fun and educational, and Samantha is great, so much of what you see on TV is not as it seems. Do you think she just unpacks in a room, lounges on the bed, does a tour of the facilities, then packs up again to go on to the next resort??

:scratchin

Didn't see it on Travel Channel yet, but we stayed there in April. It's absolutely awesome!! I can't say enough good things about the resort. It's so relaxing and beautiful. My favorite things include Bambi on the bedspreads and shower curtains, almond scented lotion, robes in EVERY room and turndown for EVERY room, and the restaurants. They have this really wonderful almond crossaint at Storyteller's Cafe (plus a lot of other good food too). Napa Rose is definitely worth the experience. Beautiful and very pampering. Plus, Downtown Disney and California Adventure are literally just steps away from the hotel.

I gotta say, after having been a fan of the "World" for so many years, the "Land" is definitely stepping up to be more resort-like. Obviously, it's a lot smaller, but we've been there 3 times in the last year and haven't run out of things to see and do yet. It has a very charming and quaint Disney feel to it, and the Grand Californian comes with all of the trimmings you would expect at the WL or AKL. I think it would be worth it to take a trip to California for once and try out this resort. You won't be sorry!

I know how you feel.

We got rid of cablevision yesterday, so now we have the Travel Channel.(direct TV) I can't wait to see the disney hotels and cruise line shows. :yo-yo:

DW & I did a character breakfast there in March. WOW!!! Very nice!!! We definitely want to stay there in the future. I taped the show & am anxious to watch it.

We love that hotel! She didn't show one of our favorite spots. The inside fireplace is great, but there is one outside as well that I don't think too many people know about. A great quiet spot to sit, rock and enjoy a good book. I got really sick when we were staying there and the parks got me real tired out. It was nice to be able to find this out of the way place to just relax.
