Did anyone like Concourse Steakhouse?

We went last year over spring break and ate their the first night. Overall, the food was average. I personally really like the atmosphere of the Contemporary, but the "atomsphere" of the restaurant itself really isn't much to write home about. We had prime rib, and some kind of fish special. The prime rib was good, not as good as LeCellier, but good. The fish was pretty decent--not great, but not bad. I also had french onion soup, which was actually quite good. The service was very nice--the waiter was very pleasant and attentive throughout the meal.

Overall, I'd say Concourse is a fairly average restaurant. It's moderately upscale, but not super fancy. Food is average to slightly above average, but fairly pricey.

Regards,
Marc

I dined here in 2003 and was a little disappointed. Thought the food was just ok and a little noisy next to Chef Mickey's.

It's the Contemporary's all-purpose sit-down restaurant. It's an above average coffee shop, really; the steakhouse part of its name is to give it a bit of class.

That said, it's a good place to get a no-fuss meal. We like to come here for lunch. The burgers are first-rate.

I like my steaks done rare to mid-rare depending on the cut and the Concourse Steakhouse never fails to way overcook the steaks!!! I do however like the Onion Soup.

I love the Concourse, I always get the NY strip with bleu cheese. The only thing I don't like is the attachment to Chef Mickeys--very loud on the one side.

it is a wee-bit noisey. However, it didn't ruin my meal. We ate and enjoyed every bite. My steak was cooked to prefection...medium-well. My daughter likes her steak "well-done" (no pink in the middle) and her steak was still juicy and tender.

Breakfast!!
Breakfast Quesadilla - two eggs, peppers, onions, Andouille sausage, provolone, cheddar and salsa!!!!!!
come hungry
or share...... maybe not
To bad they do not have Kona Coffee though!!
Maybe stop byt he Poly and bring a cup!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:
Lunch maybe
Dinner -I think not

We've been for both breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's a hidden treasure in my mind. By hidden I mean it's not top-of-mind on these boards as far as a recommended dining destination. I love watching the monorail whisk through the lobby of the CR. It's so magical. Always will be no matter how many times I see it. For breakfast they have wonderful eggs benedict. And the usual, bacon, eggs, waffles. For lunch I had a great steak burger. For dinner last summer I had a summer peach salad and prime rib entree which was very good. And, compared to the other full-service sit-down places, it's quite reasonably priced.

Try it - I think you'll like it.

We also like the Concourse. It is not spectacular, but it is good food and excellent service. I think that under the new MYW dining plan, it may see a rebirth because it is on the pricey side, and becomes a real bargain with the plan.

Agree with other posters that for some reason, this restaurant is overlooked. It is certainly better than some of the places that are constantly hyped on discussion boards.

Love it for breakfast.

Pretty good for dinner. But would definitely choose Shula's, California Grille or Yachtsmans Steakhouse before I would go with the Concourse Steakhouse.

We have had many arrival-day dinners there. It's nothing really special, but after a long day of travel, it's kind of dark and relaxing(although it's pretty noisy). From some vantage points you can watch the monorail pass through the CR. I never get tired of seeing that. The dining experience at many WDW restaurants is an EVENT! Dinner at Concourse is just a simple meal. We browse the shops after dinner, then head to our room to get ready for our WDW vacation. :earsboy:

I agree 100% We always enjoy it too! It's a hidden treasure.

Oh, now you let everyone in on the secret!

This is an underrated place - a good solid standby with great service and good food, although short on athmosphere. But a nice trip to the restaurant via monorail or boat.

Great place for vegetarians, believe it or not.

And they don't bat an eye at special requests.

We like it too - never had dinner but often sneak away from MK for a lunch. They always have a special or two that is not beef so I can always get something I like. DS loves their burgers and prime rib. We have always had good service and good food. Going to try breakfast in June!

After having dinner there last year, it will now be one of our staples. We had a later seating (I think it was 8:30) so by then the noice from Chef Mickey's was not even noticeable. The food, services and drinks were all excellent!

We eat there every other trip to WDW, which would be roughly once a month. The food is good, the prices are a bit high, but not as bad as a lot of sit down places in WDW. I guess one of the best things is the atmosphere. Sitting there for breakfast or a late supper, you can watch the monorail silently glide overhead, and the noise from chef Mickey's is not really bad at all. Most of the noise comes from when they have a little music interval to get the kids riled up when the characters come out. But truly, it is NOT annoying at all. And we do not particularly care for kids screaming in our ears, but that does not happen here. And the wait staff seems to be exceptionally attentive AND talkative here, which I personally enjoy, because some of the staff there has been around for a while, and can answer a lot of questions about WDW. Go, you will not be disapointed. :flower:
