We were all tired and had a late ps for the sleigh ride but we were really glad we went. For those who are thinking about it for next year DO IT. The sleigh is cute and the ride is through the woods. The driver asked if we wanted to hear carols and we opted for the music. It was so much fun. You can bring drinks and they provide a blanket. We all enjoyed it very much.

Where were the sleigh rides? At which resort? We are going for Christmas in 2005 and would like to know. Thank you princess:

They are at WL. You call for ps' and then just show up in the front of the lodge. It costs 30$ plus we gladly tipped our very nice driver. We were 4 adults and all thought it was great fun.

We did the last sleigh ride on 12/9 at 10 pm. We were leaving the next day, so it was a great way to end a wonderful trip. It was a lot of fun, it was my my parents, 3 kids and myself. We were a little squished, but not too bad. We did not get the option to hear carols, but my DD (8) sang the "Over the River and Through the Woods" song which of course Grandma loved. I never knew she knew all the verses!

We did this, Tuesday, 12/21. Very nice. Prince was our horse for the evening, who we recongnized from his pulling the trolley down Main Street two days before. They were all booked up, and several people were turned away who saw this and wanted to ride without reservations.

I booked the 6pm sleigh ride for our family on the last night of our trip. DW later called it the highlight of the entire week. It wasn't too cold that night--just enough to give us an excuse to cuddle under the blanket in the sleigh.
And the Christmas tunes were great.

Just as we left the main road and started trotting along the path, we saw two deer standing about 5' away from us along the side of the road. Even Walt can't create "magic" like that!

My DD and her family (DSIL and DGC) surprised me with a sleigh ride after dinner at Wispering Canyon the beginning of this month. We had a wonderful time and I'm really glad that we did it. It was also very nice to be surprised with something so fun to do.

Just a word to folks wanting to do the sleigh ride next winter.. please call early for reservations. We waited until mid Nov. and it was all booked for the entire week of our stay.

What # do you call to book?

We are hoping to do a Dec. 2006 trip and would love this!

Thanks!!!

We took the sleigh ride on Dec 21st (I think) @ 8. It was sooo disappointing. We arrived at WL at 7 and the carriage was available but we went to the lounge for wings and wine first. We walked out at 8 and it was still there so I think it sat there a whole hour. We are a family of 5 and we easily all fit and the blanket was great...But I booked it mostly for my daughter who loves animals and the driver wouldn't let us anywhere near the horse. She asked us where we were from and then not a word the whole trip. We made our own fun by singing Christmas carols but the rest of family was looking at me like "this is it?" I thought it would be special and it wasn't at all.

DH and I went on the sleigh ride on 12/30 at 6:30; it was relaxing (we didn't get the option of Xmas carols though). Our driver was very nice and we had a little conversation with her. I plan on doing this again; 1/2 hour isn't long enough IMO, wish he could last for an hour.

Timmbco,

We just got back from Disney tonight. We had the same reaction as you did and I bet the same driver. She asked us where we were from and that was it. No conservation....NO music....really nothing. We went out when it still was light enough to see and did see a few deer but they really need to do something more( Like playing the music or having you pick up hot chocolate at the Lodge first or something. I really wouldn't mind paying a little extra to make this more enjoyable. The driver had little contact with the party. At least we got to see something. I can't imagine it in the dark with no conservation or music.
