I recently received an email from DVC saying that they're looking for more sales reps in the Northeast. Take a look:
DVC EMAIL
DH and I just purchased DVC in June of 2009 and we love it. I also have two small kids at home so I thought maybe something like this would work out for me. I ended up filling out the application and had a phone interview last night. After speaking with the Disney Rep I don't think I can do it. Basically, they expect you to generate all of your own sales out of your home. They don't give you any kind of call list or leads. I have no clue as to how I would even go about trying to get people in my area to make a $20,000 purchase (at minimum) without any kind of leads.. Also, in order to remain 'active' and guarantee your commission you have to sell at least 400 points per month... that's 3 bare minimum memberships. Now, if they were willing to give me some leads in the NY area or had a DVC office within driving distance (closest one is 2 hours away), I think I'd be able to generate at least 3 sales per month.
Does anyone actually do this out of their home? How has it worked out for you? Is it hard to generate 3 membership sales per month without any help from Disney?
When we purchased DVC, we had done a lot of research about it and called the main number on the website. I would love to hear from anyone who received the same email or who actually does this for a living.
