Did anyone else get this commemorative clock?

My SIL booked our DL vacation (which we just returned from!) and each of the families got this commemorative clock for booking early. It's black with a B&W picture of Walt standing in front of the castle on the face. It's engraved with "To all who come to this happy place: welcome- Disneyland is your land. Walt Disney July 17,1955". It came in a beautiful blue box with red lining with the gold Mickey 50 on the lid.

Anyone else get this clock? :confused3

Actually this was a very special deal that you had to book in 2004. It was before they opened up general reservations and only allowed you to book a 3 day package. It was offered through the Walt Disney Travel Company. It sounds gorgeous, I'll keep my eye on ebay for one :lovestruc

We were supposed to get one when I booked my initial package. But to be a part of the package you could only stay for blocks of 3 nights. Once they opened up reservations later in the year, I changed my package so I could add one night. They told me if I did that I couldn't have the clock. So... yes... we spent more money to stay one more night and they took the clock away. Oh well... :earsgirl:

We got it through the WDTC.

Thanks for all your info- it's good to know more about why we got it. I haven't seen any on eBay yet. ;)

I really wanted to stay an extra night but with someone else paying for the trip, how can I complain?

As JC Butterfly said, it was a special deal that could only be booked online through WDTC as a 50th anniversary special package. I'm glad to read that the clock they gave is really nice. :)
