Did anyone buy the special park pass for DCVers only?

About a year or two ago Disney offered a pass whick gave so many park hopper days (5 I think) , for 4 of 5 years. The days expired if not used. I felt the price to high and stuck to park hopper plus passes that never expired. I wonder if they are even still offered.

I don't think so, those passes were stupid, actually bordering on insulting for even being offered. The actually appealled to an EXTREMELY THIN slice of members.

They did not fit my needs either. They were inflexible. You were limited to the number of days you could go. They were basically 4 sets of 5 day hopper, but you had to use all 5 days within a one year period. I like the fact that with a hopper, the days do not expire.

Annual passes work better for us if we plan to go more than 6 days. If not, hopper are just fine.

One would believe that with all the polling and surveying Disney does of their guests that they would conclude the average DVC member is 'numbers savay'. Frankly I agree with the above posts that the park hopper passes make the most sense as they do not expire, and I felt a little insulted on the Disney offer for DVC passes.

I wonder if they are even still offered.

They were discontinued.

I know many people here continue to hold out hope for a "real" discount program for DVC but I've come to the conclusion that it is not very likely to ever happen. ;)

Personally, I doubt we'll ever see any discount on passes. Just put yourself in Disney's position......we will come anyway, and more than likely we'll buy passes. Where the discounts seem to focus for DVC members, is on getting us out of our DVC unit's kitchens, and in to the resteraunts. The other focus is on getting us out and about the property doing other things like mini-golf, spas, and the avent-garde animal free circus in downtown Disney (whatever its name is).

I agree...there is nothing in it for Disney to give out discounted park passes. But they could do other modifications to get you out and about as described:

1. Allow an extra month on AP's for DVC'ers. Call it the Baker's Dozen if it needs a cute name. This would encourage DVC'ers to come back sooner rather than later...and more frequently if it was enough incentive to get them to buy an AP.

2. Sell the 5/4 pass for DVC'ers. Disney modifies the hoppers all the time. This one you'd sell for the same price as a 5 day hopper but you get an extra 2 days for waterparks & PI. This gets people over into a part of Disney where they would buy food, drink and souveniers. Or make it a 7/6.

3. More discounts at the shops and restaurants in DTD. Maybe a free drink in PI. More discounts at hotel shops and restaurants...I think its strange there are almost as many discounts at the Swan/Dolfin as there are in the rest of the actual Disney hotels. But if DVC is willing to go that route then get discounts at Crossroads and the other non-Disney hotels accessible by Disney busses (or the hotel-row bus).

Richyams, my thoughts exactly.

PAm, I was wondering if they still sell these also. Maybe to potential buyers. That would have scared me away though, as I wold have felt they were trying to screw me. I bet if we asked for them know they would not know anything about them.
