did anyone attend the ap party on 8/31?

My childhood neighbor went last night and she said the lines were really short. They had a blast and got to their car about 1:30 am.

We had a great time! We got our wristbands about 7:15, the line was long but moved fast. It got much longer closer to 9. Lines for rides were reasonable, lines for pictures with characters were pretty long. I heard some people waited 2 hours for Stitch or Jafar. Chip & Dale and Donald & Daisy were not as bad. We went on some rides, shopped, walked up for the fireworks. Headed to Alice to wait until they opened after the fireworks, loved the new effects. Went on Matterhorn. Saw the parade at 11. Went on the last train of Big Thunder for the night and wandered out at 1.

The park seemed busier after 9pm than it was at 2pm. Character lines were super long. After midnight it finally slowed down, but I was bummed there were that many people there before that. I had told my girls it would be a special night with low crowds. I was wrong, and they were mad!

Our experience was awesome. We had checked in when leaving the park around 2:30 and it only took us about 15 minutes to get our wristbands. We did notice though upon returning around 8 that the check in line was crazy long.

Right at 9 when the event officially started it did seem very busy with Space Mountain posting a 60 minute wait time. But they were actively checking for wristbands and did not allow people without them to enter ride lines or even shops. They were constantly checking wristbands for at least an hour, even when we were entering the Golden Horseshoe. But the crowds really thinned out after about 1/2 an hour and within an hour we mostly walked on or nearly walked on rides incl. Indy. Big Thunder was our longest wait at 15 min.

All the rides were open throughout the park, incl. ones we thought they might close like Casey Jr, Canal Boats and the
Mark Twain. All shops were open and many restaurants.

Our highlight of the night was going to Main Street about 20 minutes before the parade and getting a curbside spot. Love, love, love Paint the Night!

We saw Jafar (waited 20 min while eating our dole whips) and did 2 picture spots (10 - 15 min each.) We ended up in Fantasyland around midnight and rode most of the rides, all walk-up to under 5 min wait incl. Dumbo and Toad. The exception here was Pater Pan which had a long line (we skipped.) We ended our night spinning under the lanterns on the teacups. It was perfect!

We had a great time, too! Checked in around 7:30pm with no wait. Headed to NOS for dinner to avoid the parade and fireworks crowds. Had low lines for character photos, rode Big Thunder and Indy twice in a row as walk ons. (And walked on Pooh, Pirates, and Star Tours as well.) Only had a short wait for the Mark Twain to return to the dock. Did our 60th backdrop photos. Left after 1am and saw 2 DLR kitties on the tram ride to M&F. :)
