I want to have a welcome party/little cocktail area the night day before the wedding before we go to rehearsal. What do you guys recommend?

being that all of my guests are from out of town i am having a rehersal diner/welcome party for my guest. My wedding is on a sunday and i am doing it saturday night. It will be casual. It will be a beach party bash at yaght and beach beach near the big pirate boat. The menue is chip and dales buffet. I thought it was a nice thank you for everyone to come so far. The planners have lots of lots of other ideas.

You could also do an Illuminations or Fantasmic Dessert Party as a Welcome Party. Another good location is the Marina at the GF, where you can watch Wishes depending on the timing.

We didn't do this, and I wish we had. It would have been nice to get everyone together on another night.

We are doing a welcome dinner/rehersal party since there are going to be about 60 Canadians coming down to FLA. We are having it off property at the Gaylord Palms resort. There is a restaurant there called "villa de Flora" it is by far the best all you can eat buffet in the world! They have theme nights Italian, French, Greek. The food is not your typical buffet and its surrounded by one of the most spectacular atriums I have ever seen.
Here are a few shots for those of you who have no been there it's about 30 seconds from POP Century. Just over I4.

Belle -

The Gaylord Palms looks gorgeous! My DBF has a conference that he goes to every year and in 2010 it is there. You'll have to share pictures.

Last year it was in Anaheim and this year it was in WDW - I don't think I can wait 3 more years!!!! Next year it is in Philly (where we live - ugh!) I told him I'm not joining him on the trip!

Mla1977- My DF works in HR for Gaylord so I am SUPER lucky to be able to go there a lot. It it deceiving from the outside you would never know it was SO GORGEOUS inside. I am a Disney fan through and through but everyone owes it to themselves to go there once! You will have a marvelous time!!!!!

We had a Welcome/Dessert party the night before our Wedding. We had our rehearsal dinner with our families and bridal party at the beach club and then the rest of our 100 guests met us in Epcot for our Dessert/Welcome party.
I highly recommend the Illuminations Dessert party, our guests loved it and what a way to start your Wedding celebration.

We did a welcome dinner/rehearsal dinner all in one. We had a private dining event at Fulton's and that was great!

We had a Wishes cruise for our guests. It was nice but to cold for us to really enjoy being out on the water watching the fireworks.

I originally planned an illuminations cruise for my guests but since we are having a Dec wedding I was fearful of the nighttime temps. We've since nixed the idea and are heading to Ohana now for some food and fun! ;)
