We had quite the lightening storm out here in Western Ma., followed by downpours (hey, at least we know the new roof is water tight!) How was it in your neck of the woods??

Thanks for checking on us. :D We just had some downpours and we could hear thunder in the distance. I did see lightning once, but that was it. Luckily it wasnt too bad here. Looks like the weather for next week is great...finally!

That was quite a storm! The lightening was so bright!! And it's still raining here. So far so good! :)

We missed it! However it looks like there's a bunch of rain and maybe a few thunderstorms on the way right now.

It is so humid!! I can't wait for the rain to start and for all that nice weather to move in tomorrow.Northeast Radar

We did OK here in Central MA. We only had 1 really bad thunderstorm. I was expecting much worse from the looks of the forecast. At least we didn't have any tornados, LOL!

Southwestern NH/Southeastern VT got hit wicked!

We were heading to Keene for dinner and the weather warning came on the radio..DD8 freaked, she hates those!...

But we sat in Applebee's watching the lightening- it was WICKED!

then on the way home, it was heading into our town in VT....it's still raining here, hasnt stopped since last night.

Glad to hear the rest of ya aren't flooded!

I'm off to dump the dehumidifier in the basement AGAIN for the 3rd time since 9pm last night!

I live in the Norfolk County area of Mass. 30 minutes from Worcester, Boston and Providence RI and we were spared the wrath of these storms. Not even a drop of rain.

We've had a very interesting 18 hours here! Our whole area has had five sets of bad storms so far! They keep going a couple miles to our North & South & thankfully haven't hit directly over our house!!! The house has shook a few times though  I cannot ever remember such an active 18 hours of storms here! (By the way, we are on the Mass/NH border)

Started thundering and raining here around 2:30pm.... came and went several times between then and this morning..... lots of lightening last night and some real downpours during the night! Looks like a good day to stay in and scrapbook!..............P

Southeastern NH got hammered. We had 2 MAJOR storms last night and it's raining again now. Our inground 33,000 gallon pool is close to overflowing, and we had been struggling to get the water level to where it needed to be yesterday afternoon:eek: Each time there was lightning we saw about 4 different flashes consecutively. The whole house was shaking with the thunder. It was intense. The first one rolled through around 9:00 last night, and the whole backyard was lit up pretty frequently for about a half an hour, but we heard thunder start around 8 and it kept going until almost 10. We lost power for a couple minutes. The second storm rolled through somewhere in the 4 o'clock hour this morning, plunging us into darkness again, since we lost power, this time for longer. More intense lightning and thunder, though I don't think the storm lasted quite as long. I was lucky-I was so tired that I was able to sleep throug all but 20 minutes of the storm, but the rest of my house was wide awake.

well, here it is 930 am and yup- its still raining........yards flooded....off to dump the dehumidifier again!

Rain and soem thunder in my neck of the woods. Nothing hysterical though.

Thanks for asking!:D

Rhode Island checking in......... 10:10a 8-21-04

in the last few minutes the wind has picked up and it is starting to sprinkle. It looks like it wants to pour, but it hasn't yet. Although, even since I started typing this, the rain has intensified. Thankfully the satellite has not gone out yet, so DS can keep watching Maisy :)

Glad all of you weathered the storms ok....but I really thought this thread was going to be about the Red Sox winning 4th straight game in a row...that perhaps some of you fans had had a heart attack of something....LOL....:teeth:

Heather,

Where do you live? Are you near Hollis NH? Your times correspond with ours & we are on the Hollis line... for us the storm at 3:30am was worse than the 10pm storm...

We lost some power after my post, but it's back on...

Chris

Wow! Glad to hear that you are all ok! We are in SE MA (closer to RI than Boston) and we didn't get much at all! This morning we have heard some thunder rumbling and have had some rain but nothing major - no lightning. It has looked threatening several times this morning and then passes. I am waiting a bit to see what it's going to do as I want to go out for a bit...

I was at work last night when it came through (downtown Boston just south of Post Office Sq). I could see it comming from my 15th floor window...looked cool :earseek:

We're north of Hollis. We border Manchester. The 3:30/4 am storm was worse than the 10 pm storm here too.
It's raining here again. It let up for awhile after my last post but now it's pouring again. Guess we don't have to worry about our well going dry:rolleyes:

Not that you were asking me but.....:p I got up to use the "facilities" at 3 am and it was pouring TORRENTIALLY, with lots of lightening. We are about 30 minutes north-ish of Hollis........P

hey, i live in southern new hampshire, in between manchester and portsmouth and around 4 am i woke up to a bright flash of light and a very loud bang of thunder. I thought someone threw a rock at our house, it shook the house pretty good. We lost power for i would say about a minute then it came back on. But during the early night yesterday we lost power around 9ish and it was out for about 10-15 minutes. But im glad to say everyone is safe. :bounce:
