Diapers in Disney

Normally we use cloth diapers, but while we'll be at WDW we're using sposies. Is there somewhere inexpensive within the "world" to buy dipes?? I mean, where they'd cost the same as at a grocery store and not have a jacked up price??? (I know the resorts have little stores, but last time we were there we didn't have anyone to buy diapers for) We'll be onsite with no vehicle. I don't want to use up half the space in my suitcase for diapers.

:rotfl2: diapers the same price as at home......hmmmm....Nothing in Florida is inexpensive, especially in Orlando. I would take a carry-on with the diapers. Preferrably a cloth bag that you could roll up when the diapers are done.
Sorry for the sarcasm :Pinkbounc

Since you don't have a car, your options are limited. You could take a taxi, but that would offset any money saved by buying cheap diapers. Diapers are sold at the resorts and the baby care centers. They do not carry all sizes of diapers either.

One way to look up the wasted space in the suitcase, it will leave space for souveniers on the way home, lol.

maybe you could ship some to your resort?
when are you going?

I usually take a carryon with diapers in it, that way I have some room for my goodies on the way home. ;) I cloth as well.

I believe they only sell Huggies as well so if you are picky about brands bring your own. I have travelled twice with DS already and took a pack of diapers each time. Then you have some room in your suitcase when they are all used up.

If you only use cloth, try a couple different brands before you go. (Maybe borrow from a friend.) We found that the generic brand and Huggies are both fine, but Pampers and Luvs on my son stink like heck. I'd hate to go on vacation and find that out!

I'd say the cheapest option is probably to pack them - disposables are generally a lot thinner than cloth. (I can fit about 100 disposables in the same space as my 16 FBs and inserts.) And you can usually fit them into little places all around the suitcase so they seem to take even less room.

LOL, we definately don't have a particular brand that we prefer, so I guess we're good there. We do use sposies occasionally, but not regularly enough anymore for me to have any idea how many I'll need...more than one pack for 9 days, do you think?? (she's in a sposie size 3 now, and at the rate she grows- she's tiny- there's a good chance she'll STILL be a size 3 by then) With cloth she only goes through about 6 each day.

Well it depends on what size pack. When mine were in diapers I usually used a regular pack every 5-7 days. So I'd say to pack 2 just to be safe. Personally I liked packing them because then I had extra room in the suitcase, but I have shipped them down as well. You can order directly from Amazon.com or Drugstore.com and have them delivered directly to the resort.

We do Pampers Cruisers. My DD is also a 3. I don't think she'll ever hit 26 pounds to grow out of them.

I don't like the smell of Huggies. Figure out how many diapers you'll need, and then buy the closest pack. We ended up buying a "mega" pack, taking out one row of diapers, and putting our box of wipes in the bag. That way the diapers still stayed vacuum-sealed small. Then, on your way back there is room for a souvenir!

We use disposables overnight, and I bought a pack of Pampers once. Man, that whole month until we used it up, we changed the baby the instant he was awake and took the diaper right out. I don't know what it was, but the perfumes/lack thereof in Luvs and Pampers reacted terrible with his pee. If he smelled like that all day, I'd make his dad hang out with him. :rotfl:

We use 5-6 cloth daily, and I'm figuring on 4-5 disposables daily at WDW. I'm packing a half pack of 68, since we have access to a car and can shop at military rates on Shades of Green. If we didn't, I'd probably bring the whole pack just in case for the ten days.

Also, depending on her height, you may want to check sizes before you go - my boy, waist-wise, can still fit 3s, but the rise is too low so we're in 4s just to keep the diaper high enough. But he's still in the same medium FBs we've had since Sept. 2005. (Talk about a good investment!!)

Yeah, she's a shorty (barely 27 in. at 9 months), so she's definately still in her size 3. And she's started walking too, so I expect her to thin out a little more. Ahhh...diapers are craziness!! :rotfl:

Thanks everyone!!! I'll just plan on packing them in my suitcase.
