Diapers: Buy or bring?

I can't decide if I should pack diapers for the entire trip or just buy them at the grocery store when I arrive (We'll be staying for 7 days). We'll be renting a car and making a trip to Publix so it'll be really easy. Dh thinks we should pack them all, but I don't think he realizes how much room they take in a suitcase!

If you are already planning a trip to the grocery store, there is no reason to take them. You are right, they take up a TON of room! We took them the last time we traveled b/c we were short on time and I didn't want to have to run to the store.

Take them... you'll have room in the suitcase to bring goodies back home at the end of your trip!!!

How old is the baby? If the baby is very small and wearing those teeny tiny newborn or size 1 diapers, you'd probably be ok. Otherwise, I'd buy them when you get there since you;ll be going to the store anyway. We're going for 4 days in Aug and I'm bringing diapers because it's a short trip and we won't have a car. When we go for a week, I buy diapers there.

Have a great trip! :)

We've done both. I actually prefer bringing them now since they do take up room in the suitcase. Like PP have said, it makes sure that I leave room for the souveniers we are sure to buy. When I did buy them in the grocery store in FL, I don't know why, but I always had extras and had to pack them up to come home... extra diapers were not the souveniers my kids had in mind ;)

Hopefully our last trip was the last one for pull-up/diapers LOL

Are you really particular about the brand? There is a chance they might not have the size or brand you need, esp. the stores around Disney. That has happened to me a couple of times so I just bring mine. I take them out of the package before packing them though. They fit better!

When we went last time, DS turned 2, so we had lots of big diapers! We packed diapers and snacks in a small suitcase, then when it was time to go home we had a free suitcase to pack all of our souvenirs.

Our first time with DD we did a grocery run for food, diapers, and wipes and were shocked at how much $$ we spent. The second time we just packed diapers and wipes and used the room for souveniers.

It would be easier if you brought them b/c then you dont have to worry about the grocery store not having the type of diaper you use and you wont have to worry about finding space for them later, plus as others have said you can put the souveniers you buy in the suitcase.:thumbsup2

we check our carseat with our luggage, diapers fit great in the seat. they also fit nicely in the outside pockets of our luggage. we do make a target run, but it always seems like the sm pack is too small and the lg is too large!

You'd be amazed at how many extra little pockets all your suitcases have! Shove as many as you can in every available crevice! Also, wrap them up inside shirts as you pack and line the perimeter of the interior of your suitcase with diapers (standing sideways). Even if you can fit one pack of diapers in your luggage, that's less that you'll have to buy when you're down there.
