thanx for posting that i enjoyed it.

i like the cant top pigs with pigs quote. and her response to that. I hope someone comes around soon that can lead the company half as good as walt led it with his visions and dedication.

Oddly enough the DVD is not available at most retail stores, including amazon. If anyone is having a hard time finding it, email me and I'll send you a link to the retail site that I ordered it from.

Whenever I hear "you can't top pigs with pigs" I think of "The three little wolves,"'The big bad wolf," "and "the practical pig."

Don't misunderstand my point of view though. I used to think that the cheapquals were mostly harmless. I figured that if parents wanted to buy them to babysit their children, what the heck, let capitalism be capitalism and the market decide I thought. That was with things like the Alladin movies or Buzz Lightyear. The only one I ever bought was Lady and the Tramp 2, because I knew that there were so many Scamp stories in the comics that I figured it would be lovingly done by some fan animators. But it was a mistake to buy it. We got Lion King 2 for free; it is OK to watch once but nothing really great or anything, there is no reason for it to exist. Peter Pan 2 sort of bugged me, and when I saw Cinderella 2 on toon disney I thought it was plug awful, of course. It was. It was just plain awful. I haven't seen dumbo 2 or Tarzan and Jain (but I do sort of like the Tarzan cartoon) or Mermiad 2, and I hope I don't see Dalmations 2 (let's see, There is 101 dalmations, 101 dalmations live action, and 102 dalmations live action, so now lets make 102 dalmations animated? ***). But Jungle Book 2 is the straw for me. The whole point of the ending of Jungle Book was that this was the end of the story. Mowgli had to decide between staying in the jungle with his friend Baloo or going to live in the man village. That little tart knew exactly what she was doing and he decided to go to the man village. That was a good bye. That was his choice and he couldn't go back. That was the whole point of the ending of the film. And now jungle book 2? What an insult to everyone who worked on the Jungle Book, heck, to everyone who ever enjoyed the Jungle Book. It is an insult to the animators, to the voice actors, to the writers, to the music people, to Walt Disney, hell to Kipling. Most of those folks are dead and somebody comes up with the crap. I guess it is worse in a way for Frank and Ollie because they are still alive to see it. Heck, it is an insult to the public thinking they might buy such a thing for that matter. I no longer think they are mostly harmless. I am disgusted by them.

im with you d-r all the way on the sequals and now its downright funny. my first bad experience with it was Little Mermaid 2 i was watching it at CBR in the lobby before my return flight home and you could just tell the quality was off alot IMO.

*** is right and seems there will be no end. They are watering down the brand hardcore.

i also feel the "2" hurts the original slightly. why couldnt it be like cinderella adventures or something and not cinderella "2". beauty and the beast did this with their christmas video didnt they? there are just too many sequals out now which is ridiculous when the stereotype is that sequals never live up to the original and they keep crankin out sequals as if people are demanding them.
