I just did a search on Disney's website for a Magic Kingdom restaurant. It showed all the normal ones like LTT, Crystal Palace, The Plaza, Tony's...etc but then the Diamond Horseshoe showed up. Ummm, isn't that a Disneyland Restaurant? I read the 'more details' part of it and it said it was in Frontierland, Quick Service by day and Family Buffet by night (but it sounded EXACTLY like LTT's Menu).

Just making sure that it's not a new restaurant or anything LOL :)

I don't know anything about DL, but I'm sure I've seen it at MK in WDW.

It's usually only open at peak times. By day I think they share a kitchen with Pecos Bill's and by night, the food does come from LTT.

It's normally not open as ANYTHING during slower seasons. During peak seasons, it opens up just as you said, as quick service during the day and table service at night, with the Liberty Tree offerings. I think there's a higher influx of guests who need to use dining plan credits and can't find any available reservations at the permanent eateries at the Magic Kingdom.

Golden Horseshoe is at Disneyland vs. Diamond Horseshoe at WDW. At Disneyland, they do have a wonderful show, "Billy Hill and the Hillbillies" that play at various times during the day, and they have some quick service sandwiches and snacks.

I guess that's why we've always missed it...we go during the slow season. It's never came up on the dining search before....but I was just putting in random dates today to get a run down of all the TS available in that park LOL

1) Ah, the Diamond Horseshoe !!!!
2) We loved that place.
. . . cute floor show with dancing, singing and jokes
. . . audience participation
. . . refreshments, snacks and sandwiches
. . . nicely air conditioned on a hot day
3) The labor costs became too much for WDW budget constraints.
4) They shut it down.
5) Now, it is an overflow eatery for LTT in busy seasons.
6) WHAT A PITY !!!!

NOTE: The Disneyland version, I think, was Golden Horseshoe.

they used to have cookies..that's all I remember. Yummy cookies. LOL. And a floor show. It was GREAT!

So glad I am not the only one to remember the show there. Sometime in the 1970s we saw "The Roaring Twenties". You just brought back a memory of sitting in the balcony with my parents (both gone now) and watching the dancers. What a great time!

Yea, i didn't think it was still open. It use to be sponsored by Frito-Lay and you got corn chips with everything. But as i remember it was basic sandwiches. The show had can-can dancers so how can you go wrong. :)

I saw the show about 8 times back in the day and every time but one, Diamond Lil came down and sat on ly lap and sang me a song. She always targeted bald guys so she could rub their head. the one time she didn't, the prospector had stopped and thrown jokes at me, then looked at Lil and grinned. I miss that show!

Here is what I remember.

You had to make reservations for the show as soon as you got in to WDW. You went in, where assigned a table and then went up to a counter buy your food.

This is were it gets fuzzy. I remember that the sandwiches were just plain ham and cheese on Wonder bread cut in half and wrapped in saran wrap. You also got a bag of chips and a drink. Probably cost $3. Then after everyone got their food, the show started.

Is this way it worked? :confused3

1) Among other entertainment.
2) I still have my "STAR" buttons from performing with them.
3) They pulled folks from the audience to join-in.
4) It was for fun and joking.
5) I did not think as a 6'3" ex-college-lineman player I was auditioning.
