Diamond Celebration Artwork

First off, I am not really a collector, but I definitely enjoy the artwork that much of the Disney-commissioned art. It appears, though, that the 60th Anniversary will be a hit or miss in this realm. The concept of the "Decades" series, as well as the art itself, is pretty fun.

However, I'm having a hard time getting excited about this latest preview. The Parks Blog references "Novelty Items," so maybe this is just going on snowglobes and keychains, but to me it doesn't meet the same standards of quality and impact of other Disney art.

The later Blog post mentioned that the designs were for popcorn buckets and souvenir mugs.

I do LIKE the art for the novelty items (I really love it when they do retro style stuff), but in all honesty it's not what I would expect for 60th anniversary popcorn buckets and mugs. To me those things should really SCREAM Diamond Celebration and have art more akin to the kind in my avatar or signature. This is just retro looking art that could be used at any point in time that happens to have a little '60' written on it.
