Dialysis Day Embarkation Day

Does anyone have experience with getting dialysis the morning of their cruise? I was wondering if anyone had any tips/locations that may make this easier. Seems like there are no guarantees she can be dialyzed in the morning. Trying to do something nice for my mom and worried it may not work out!

I suggest you work with your mom's current dialysis center team. They can be very helpful is either arranging for the dialysis or at least guiding you through that process. There are a few dialysis centers in the greater Orlando area used by tourists, but which one may depend on where she currently goes.

I agree with trying to work with your mom’s center’s travel coordinator. That was my job for many years. You could also try companies like Dialysis At Sea that specialize in dialysis and cruising.

Thank you, we are working with her center. I am looking to see if anyone has been in the same situation? The issue isn't so much the finding a place but finding one that can get us out in time.

When my dad was cruising with Dialysis at Sea, I think he sometimes could rearrange the schedule and go a day early for dialysis, to avoid having to deal with it on embarcation day. Is that a possibility? He was on a 2/2/3 schedule I think, so it was essentially swapping one 3-day with the following 2-day stretch.
