Diagon Alley/ HHN help

I think I saw somewhere that although US closes at 5PM on HHN nights that Diagon alley could be accessed past 5PM if you have a 2 park ticket. Is this true? What is the process?

You have to go to DA before 5 pm. There are TM's outside DA. There are rope lines to enter but before you enter you have to show your 2 park pass. Then they will issue a paper wrist band. Once in the only way out will be HE to IOA.

We did this a couple of weeks ago.
Please not that as the only way out is through the Hogwart Express, the lines to the HE were very long!

The lines were 60 minutes when we were there

It is open till 6pm, after that the only way out is the HE...you can expect a long wait.
